Final Fantasy VII returns to PC as a digital download exclusive to the Square Enix Store

Final Fantasy VII is heading back to PC.

Recent leaks have proved true and Square Enix is bringing the original 1998 PC port back to the present. While exclusive to the company’s very own online shop, this “updated” version of the game will support achievements, cloud saving and come with a character booster – effectively allowing you to cheat by upping your HP, MP, and Gil levels to maximum.

The minimum system requirements are:
Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64-bit)
2GHz Processor or faster
1GB RAM
DirectX 9-compatible graphic card

Official release date and final pricing is yet to be announced, but if the previous leak is anything to go by, it will retail for $9.99/£7.99/€9.99. It seems Steam has been canned, though – the website specificly states the game will be “Available Exclusively on the SQUARE ENIX Store.” The announcement trailer below backs that up.
