Discussion: Breaking Through – Let Square Enix know that Final Fantasy Type-0 needs to come to the west By Erren Van Duine on August 30, 2012 at 3:29 PM

I decided to focus on Final Fantasy Type-0 once again for this week’s discussion.

Why? Well, in case you missed it, Square Enix America finally acknowledged the game in the west somewhat by including the DLC track from the game in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy’s upcoming DLC schedule. The difference between that and FF Versus XIII’s Somnus, is that Type-0 has already seen a release in Japan. Meanwhile on the eve of Final Fantasy’s 25th anniversary event, western fans still wait…

It’s really gotten me thinking lately – what can we do as fans? It’s really sad that we’re forced to beg for the game at this point, but it might be the only thing to do in order to get some sort of recognition out of Square Enix. After all, such an approach eventually worked for Tales of fans, as well as Xenoblade and The Last Story. If they can do it, why can’t we for Final Fantasy Type-0?

So I think the first step in this attempt is to create some dialogue. If you really want to see Final Fantasy Type-0 come to the west – let Square Enix know. Drop @SQEX_Members_NA a line with the hashtag #FFTYPE0 and tell them you want to see the game localized. If you’re feeling extra bold, go ahead and let them know on their Facebook account as well. Type-0 needs all the support it can get.

The important thing to remember is to be polite about it. Kindness can go a lot further than angry insults, so please contact them in constructive, thoughtful ways. We’ll be sure to do the same.

SE just have with alot of stuff that they’re currently doing.

Let also speculate on type 0 localized version, since the original jp version was released in a year ago. What do you guys want in type 0?

a.) What system would be best for type 0 port/remaster?
- I think it should be psVita and ps3 similar to ffx hd

b.) For the localized version, what kind of additions do you want in the game? It could be something small like trophies or big like a new character.
-They should add the missing moggle cutscene according to the utlimania and probably hd texture update if it is on hd systems. Some new spells, summons and mission would be nice as well.

How about a new poll on this website for type-0, Erren? Maybe that would get the attention of SE. I wouldn’t be surprised if they look at this site considering it’s a major source of information for fans.

People really think a FF game with a budget this big will not get release? Really? REALLY?

Come on, people. The game is coming out. Just be patient and be prepared for whatever hardware it gets released on. It could be in the process of being changed to an iOS game like TWEWY was.

Also, they’ll only release Type-0 after FFXIV 2.0 is released in all markets on both PS3 and PC. Releasing it now would just take interest away from FFXIV 2.0 in the West.

Hiya, SE forum usually help on general stuff like either getting ideas or listen to the reception, But i gotta agree with Erren who pretty much said the point. I think two different approarches on one same goal are better.

Hmm, this is just for localization, but on what system? I hope it is for ps3 and vita.

I think we should not go for the NA branch but the JAP branch of SE since they make the games and they would have more knowledge and so we should have someone who speaks jap and contact the president of SE and Nomura to get some info, I’ve been waiting for over a year FFX HD news.
