Final Fantasy Type-0 joins Square Enix’s Ultimate Hits budget line By Erren Van Duine on September 27, 2012 at 11:32 PM

Japanese fans will soon be able to enjoy Final Fantasy Type-0 and more at a discounted price.

Square Enix’s very own e-Store has revealed the next set of titles to join their budget priced Ultimate Hits collection. Due for release on December 6th, Final Fantasy Type-0 will be joined by Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3 for the low cost of ¥2,940.

Out of these only Birth by Sleep has seen a release overseas. Final Fantasy Type-0 remains firmly grounded in Japan with no updates to suggest otherwise.

Honestly, the only way this game is coming to NA and EU is by being upscaled for the PSVita or released episodically on iOS/Android.

I want see this coming on the PSVita Ported for Type-0.

I guess they are iffy about bringing it here because psp sales aren’t very good here, and therefor type-0 sales won’t be either.

It makes since on a business level, but out of respect for the North American customers, who dig deep and pay their hard earned money on almost every other Square-enix project (E.g, monthly subscriptions for XI, and XIV, DLC for 13-2, downloadable versions of every FF game on the psn market, and every main series title), we deserve to have at least a psp downloadable version of this game with subtitles, and that is AT LEAST! Our money is just as valuable as theirs and we pay to have these games made when we purchase the ones they release here, so in all honesty Type-0 should be no different.

Its like I’m helping SE fund a game that I’m never going to have the opportunity to buy.. its shameful :/

Just to add on to my rant. This would be different if it was some Japanese company who rarely localizes their games, but we are talking about SE, the company who for the last freaking forever has been supporting NA and EU localizations on their games. Didn’t stop them from releasing FF3 on the psp here regardless of sales, so why can’t type-0 be the same?

  • Type9

It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not they’ll be localizing the game.

  • Kitsy

I’m sad to see that Square STILL has not confirmed anything on an international release. I played the Japanese one for a bit (I couldn’t understand much though) and it looked amazing. I’m hoping for a PSP release, since I don’t really have money for a Vita…*grumble*

  • Codycoonrod

That’s exactly why I wrote what I wrote?

Regardless, they should have given insight by now as to what their plans are for a localization. It is has been out for a year, and by now they shouldn’t be leaving NA and EU customers in the dark if it is planned to do a localization for it.

  • Infinite

Y can’t be ps3 and ps vita like FFX HD, it grab more audience that way? Or maybe 3ds

  • Lara Croft

There was something in the Ultimania Omega though, wasn’t there? An interview of sorts? I honestly don’t remember; it’s been a year.
