Tetsuya Nomura says he’ll soon show the future of Final Fantasy By Erren Van Duine on September 2, 2012 at 3:52 AM

While Tetsuya Nomura wasn’t present for the Future of Final Fantasy roundtable, he did leave fans a message of his own.

Closing the ceremony itself, Hajime Tabata talked about Final Fantasy Versus XIII’s development, then said “Tetsuya Nomura wanted to give the message that he’ll soon show the future of Final Fantasy.” Whether that means Final Fantasy Versus XIII or another project remains to be seen, but for now we can only speculate based on everything else that was said during the show.

    I’m an avid supporter of Nomura, his talent, and his games, but COME ON, how many times has he said this, only to not deliver anything (and the fact that it wasnt even Nomura who said it, but someone saying giving his “message” for him). I’d really like to see Nomura’s definition of soon though, I mean he always says Vs. will appear “soon”. Soon does NOT mean 2-3 years from now Nomura!

    So… they come, and talk pretty much about nothing relevant in the conference called ‘Future of FF’ And then close the very same conference anouncing “Tetsuya Nomura wanted to give the message that he’ll soon show the future of Final Fantasy.” Thats pretty lame SE =/

    I’m guessing it’s the upper portion that’s mostly aggravating. Can you remove the fixed positioning? That would allow for more content per screen.

    Oh dont get me wrong, I’m not excusing the higher ups, as I know that Square has MANY idiots in high positions. But Nomura IS the one who keeps saying soon and failing to show anything. If its not meant to be shown “soon” dont say news is coming “soon”.

    How many times has he said soon? He said the same thing back various times since the latest trailer, and now we are still getting nothing? If not TGS when can we expect a trailer? summer of 2013? The wait for some sort of material is ridiculous..

    Ito saying it won’t be at TGS and Tetsuya saying this makes me think they are not quite on the same page. I think they are purposely saying it won’t be there. TGS is the event where SE can shine. Even lightning returns isn’t there if we believe their lineup.

    The only way to force them to rush the Versus XIII and having a horrible sales of this new game, just do not buy, the power to change it is in our hands, but unfortunately fans are disunited. I’m sure if the sales of this was much lower than expected they would run to launch the Versus XIII. The power of change that is in our hands.
