I doubt she’s an ordinary being like that. I think the closest to ordinary she might be is if she was heavily involved with the Order mentioned in previous articles. It’s hard to tell, but she might be sort of on Lightning’s side. I guess we’ll just have to see, though.

I like your theory. i am inclined to believe that either Chaos or Bhunivelze have a hand in this somehow. Or else it could just be coincidence that she looks like Serah, which would have an impact on Lightning even if she is not really Serah.

Still, i would take the ‘long lost sister’ cliche over some of the downright weird and dumb fan speculations i have seen (like lumina being hope and light’s daughter)

Well for starters, as was seen very often in XIII-2 pink is a VERY common hair color in this world, among both men and women across all time periods. It’s comparable to blond, really.

They are almost certainly not going the sister route. It’s far more likely that this is the ‘memory’ of Serah Lightning vowed to keep alive, corrupted by Chaos. Other possible explanation are that Bhunivelze made her to be the carrot he dangles in front of Lightning, that she’s the merged form of Chaos-wreathed Yeul with the spirit of Serah (as hinted by Requiem of the Goddess), or that Lumina is the god-like creature Lightning will have to fight at the end who has taken a form similar to Serah’s in order to deter Lightning from fighting her.

The sister route is at once too simple and too complicated.

People are already speculating that Lumina might be a reincarnation of Serah. Things definitely got more interesting, at least in my opinion. I look forward to when we get more of an idea of who Lightning might be going up against and how Snow and Hope will play into it.
