Namco Bandai Partners bringing Lightning Returns Xbox 360 version to Asian markets By Erren Van Duine on January 7, 2013 at 12:42 AM

Namco Bandai Partners have announced today that they will officially be handling the release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360 in Asian territories outside of Japan.

Authorized by Square Enix, this release will be available in Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and contain Chinese subtitles over the original Japanese voice recording. Unlike the recently announced PS3 edition, this version will not contain English subtitles or menus.

An official Chinese version website is scheduled to launch soon; the game itself will arrive sometime this year.

    Sony does better…

I need some explanation, why would a publisher like Square Enix decide to hire another publisher for one of their Japanese game? Wouldn’t be more cost efficient to do the job themselves?

Yep, doesn’t make sense to me either!

Are there really a significant chunk of people within the Asian markets who only has an Xbox?
For some reason I thought PS3/WII was something everyone (who enjoyed console gaming) had, and an Xbox was if you wanted some more options from overseas.
Especially since a lot of games exclusive to the Asian markets are released on either a handheld or the PS3/WII.
Though, maybe this playstation centricity is only dominant within Japan itself.
    Oh well.
