Final Fantasy X HD resurfaces running on PlayStation Vita, proper announcement due soon By Erren Van Duine on February 18, 2013 at 4:01 AM

Final Fantasy series Producer and Square Enix VP Shinji Hashimoto took the stage during this morning’s PlayStation Vita conference out of Sony Japan.

After a long silence, Final Fantasy X HD has reappeared, and it’s running on PS Vita. The game, having seen its initial announcement at Tokyo Game Show 2011, is still in development according to Hashimoto. The first look at the remaster shows off Yuna and Tidus in the town of Luca, along with Bahamut. It’s quite clear from the images that FFX has received some type of graphical improvements.

No release date was given, but an official announcement is said to be coming soon. Look forward to it.

It certainly looks good but that’s all they had to show after this long? Hope we get to see a fair bit more soon. But glad it’s on its way nonetheless :) Much as I would like a portable FFX, still not much of a reason to buy a Vita, and I’d love to see this on my HDTV, so PS3 is certain for me.

Oh wow, so that’s on the Vita? Interesting. I wonder what it’ll look like on the PS3, the Vita version is already on-par or better than the PS2 version. Clothing textures are definitely better, and movement looks much more clear/natural

Maybe the reason development is taking so long is that in addition to coding cross-play, they’re re-creating the the graphics for both systems rather than just making one ‘standard’ update and downscaling it for the Vita. (Or worse, upscaling it for the PS3)

That’s all they show? I expected more.

Oh please let this be released soon. I will pre-order the second it’s available for either vita OR ps3 or both if possible.
