New Final Fantasy X Play Arts Kai Yuna and Tidus in the works By Erren Van Duine on February 2, 2013 at 4:04 PM

Final Fantasy VII won’t be the only classic entry seeing new figures.

Square Enix’s Hidemi Matsuzuka has revealed newly designed Yuna and Tidus from Final Fantasy X. The pair will be joining the company’s Play Arts Kai line within the new year. The current models are prototypes, but you can expect to see them and even more Square Enix merchandise at the New York Toy Fair, as well as Square Enix’s own local cafe, ARTINA.

Additionally, there are some new snapshots of the in-progress Rufus, Vincent and Yuffie to check out below as well.

THank the lord! Now I won’t have to pay a crap-load of money for importing! That, and I love Yuna’s design.

It’s like Square Enix is purposely adding fuel to the fire. Commence fans complaining about how they get figurines, and no new info on FFX remake.

That would be ultra lame as any “fan” should know the merch and development departments couldnt be further apart from influencing eachother… Le sigh~

That Vincent looks really cool in monochrome. But wait for the final version. I saw Raiden from Metal Gear Rising when it was just a prototype, liked it but the painted version was just strange. I’d like to have a new Squall figure with awesome details and accurate to the original Final Fantasy VIII model, not some Dissidia or KH remake.

    It’s sad, but true…

Have they even done a KH remake version of squall? Commence the frantic googling!

  • Tom

Sorry, there might not be a KH Squall figure, only the 3D model was redone for the game. But there are many-many figures of Squall and the only one I liked was the Play Arts Kai, but not the Dissidia version. Sorry again!

  • Murasame

I agree. It’s not dissimilar to saying the game’s HD remake has been delayed because of these play arts figures. I for one will be buying them!

We need to demand Kais for the entire line of FF PAs! lol
While also not burdening the merch team to be overloaded somehow :P
I used to not agree with the fact that square heavily catered to other companies when creating PAs. But, it’s only a good thing, as it gives them more resources to feed my Final Fantasy PA appetite :)
