Square Enix has released the direct feed announcement trailer for Final Fantasy XV, revealed yesterday as a renamed Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

While the game has been expanded to take advantage of next-generation platforms, Square Enix promises that the main concept, world and story will continue as originally envisioned.

The story of Final Fantasy XV centers on the armed forces of Niflheim as they launch an armed assault upon the Kingdom of Lucis – casting main character Prince Noctis from his home and into the fray. Although Square Enix has been mum on a release date, fans can expect the game to launch on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the near future.
