Lightning Returns at Japan Game Music Festival 2013 By Erren Van Duine on July 2, 2013 at 12:58 AM

Mitsuto Suzuki premiered three pieces of Lightning Returns music this past weekend at the Japan Game Music Festival. While we’ve no samples to share at the moment, Square Enix promises that the tracks will be heard online soon enough.

During the event, both Suzuki and Sugimoto Tomoyuki performed six tracks in total – three from Final Fantasy XIII-2 and three from Lightning Returns. Both sets of music were accompanied by various scenes from the games themselves; LR in specific by clips from the Dead Dunes and Luxerion. Suzuki will be handling the music for the newly revealed content of Yusnaan.

As the game’s Japanese launch nears closer, expect to hear more about the OST in the upcoming months. Those interested in importing the game will be happy to know Play-Asia has opened pre-orderes for both the Japanese PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions – with the former being region free. Also available is the Lightning Returns Play Arts Kai, currently penned in for this October.

I want to play this much more than I think I want to play it (one of the reasons is the OST…), if that makes any sense. Hope they release a demo like XIII-2. btw, anyone know if there’ll be an Asian version with english text?

  • Erren Van Duine

The Asian version only has Chinese text this time around.
