Preview Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster’s ending voice drama By Erren Van Duine on July 25, 2013 at 3:34 AM

Square Enix has updated the official Japanese Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster website with a two minute first-look at the title’s ending voice drama episode.

As previously reported, the HD update will have a bit of a bonus in the form of a 30 minute audio drama written by series composition writer, Kazushige Nojima. This new story is said to take place one year following the events of Final Fantasy X-2 and will feature all new characters. Square Enix is also preparing illustrations to accompany the episode, in place of actual cutscenes. Although the games are being split up for PS Vita, the audio drama will be available for both console and handheld releases.

The audio sample is of course in Japanese, but will be localized into newly recorded English voices for the overseas release. A translation of the sample has been provided below:

Tidus: “It’s been two years since Spira entered the Eternal Calm. I was given a new life. For an entire year, I was able to walk alongside Yuna. It was fun. It really was.”

Chuami : “Kurgum and I were walking around the Bevelle stadium road, formerly known as Mika Road. The stadium that should’ve been completed by now is still under construction, so I wonder if the tournament will actually take place here. If not, I wonder how the Spira council will take responsibility. Oh well, it doesn’t matter to me. I have nothing to do with it. The only issue for me is the large crowd ahead, and the star shining in the middle of it.”

Kurgum: “Hey Chiwami, not over there! We’re in a hurry.

Chuami: “I waited for you, so we might as well just show up late. Anyways, isn’t that Tidus?

    is there a translation?

  • devidation

I hope they won’t wait until gamescom for a release date >.<

  • Tim Lomeli

If I don’t get a release date for this game soon I’m going to explode.

  • Anime10121

Thats more than likely when we’ll get it, I mean, other than some random day, thats the best time to give us one.

  • devidation

Ye maybe but I believe Kingdom hearts hd remix also got a release date on a random day. I’m not 100% sure though.

  • Anime10121

Actually I think it did, so yeah, they might with this too, but they need to hurry the heck up, I wanna know when I can replay X and also when I can watch the 1000 Words cutscene in HD!

  • NikkiCola

Oh sure, first off they don’t give a release date. Then it’s in Japanese with no translation.
My patience no longer exists, Square-Enix…

Tidus begins with この世界 (kono sekai), which means this world. No idea about what comes after though. And if I heard correctly, he’s says おれは新しいじんせいおってに (ore wa atarashii jinsei otte ni), which according to Google Translate, means I’m a new life pursuer. After that I hear words like Yuna, together, every day, and one year, so I assume he’s saying something along the lines of I’ve been spending every day with Yuna together for one year. And then he says it really has been fun.

And I have literally no idea as to what Yuna says and who the second speaker is. XD So I guess they’re just talking about their new life together… Something like that. Sorry for this crappy “translation”. >__<

  • artemisthemp

Could be Tidus talking about how Yuna and him spend 1 year as a family

  • Billy Jackson

That’s about all I could hear as well. Well that and I heard them mention Bevelle.

That second speaker, those construction sounds and blitzball fan (generic) chatter from the second half is what interests me though. Whoever could it be and whatever could be going on? Could the be rebuilding Zanarkand, a Blitzball stadium or maybe just be repairing or upgrading something else? Also I heard what sounded like a jackhammer, did they use them in Yuna’s Spira or could they be back in Tidus’ Spira?

  • Xalvin

The name “Tidus” is finally mentioned by Yuna in-game!
At the end of the clip, she says ‘arega Tida da no?’ (Tida is the Japanese name for Tidus).

  • Sapientia

    Bro, it’s Japanese first. Always.

  • NikkiCola

    Bro, I’m a chick. :P
I’m know it’s always Japanese first. I’m not really so concerned with this audio clip too much. It’s a nice little gift I guess. I’m more mad about the fact that there is still no release date.
Typically, when a clip like this gets released, someone out there has it translated for us all, I just figured while I was ranting I could add that to my list.
But still, my patience no longer exists, lol.

  • Sapientia

My brochacho, I’m also a chick. xD
Yeah, it kind of sucks we usually have to wait for a translation, but hell, there’s probably one up right now. As far as release dates go, well, just gotta be patient, I guess.

  • Randy Marsh

You are aware that they did show a preview of the English version of the voice drama a couple of weeks ago?

  • NikkiCola

No actually, I was not aware of that at all.

  • NikkiCola

    My brotha! xD haha

  • Sapientia

    From another motha!

  • OmegaSin

Stop torturing me and let me play this game !

  • Kirin Dickson

It says December 31st on the amazon pre-order site. But maybe that’s just a guess?

  • Kirin Dickson

    Here’s the translation:

Anyways, isn’t that Tidus?”

  • Ehren Rivers

Amazon (and other sites that allow pre-ordering for games) generally defaults to the last day of the current year if no release date has been announced.

  • Tim Lomeli

That is the default placeholder date for a game that will be out before the end of the year but has no release date.
