Drakengard 3 (Drag-on Dragoon 3 in Japan) – Square Enix’s upcoming action RPG for PS3 – will host a number of different combat options including sky battles.

By mounting her dragon Mikhail, protagonist Zero can take to the sky to battle enemies whilst evading multiple obstructions in the environment. Players can control Mikhail’s breath attack through the use of a lock-on feature which allows for multiple targets to be struck at once. Zero has the ability to access a special mode – similar to what she does during ground battles – that can increase Mikhail’s breath attacks exponentially.

Drakengard 3 is set to launch on PlayStation 3 on December 19th in Japan. Square Enix has yet to announce any plans or details for an overseas release.
