Square Enix has released a new video today detailing the ins and outs of the battle system found in Lightning Returns. The trailer guides viewers through the new action-oriented battle system where strategy, customization, and knowing when to guard or evade from enemies will be the key to survival. Known as the Style-Change Active Time Battle (SATB), the developers have taken some of the traditional elements found in both FFXIII and XIII-2 and modified them for a single character experience.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is out on February 11th in North America and February 14th in Europe. An English demo is now available for download through both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live to familiarize you with the game ahead of release.
