Final Fantasy XIV PS4 open beta begins this week

Those who missed the first phase of Final Fantasy XIV’s PS4 beta test will have a second chance this week as access opens up across the game’s existing servers. The open beta phase will begin this Friday (April 4th) at 1AM PDT and will go through April 7th. Anyone with a PS4 can join in provided they update their client to the latest beta version of the game.

Starting from this phase, players will be able to bring in their existing characters and progression achieved during the beta will carry over accordingly. Three new servers will also be opening up including Mana (JP), Jenova (NA/EU) and Zodiark (NA/EU).

The PS4 version will launch in full on April 14th with early access to begin shortly after the close of open beta. Players with a PS3 copy of the game can upgrade free of charge. North American players can load the beta through this link while Europeans can access it from this link here. Otherwise the beta client can be directly downloaded from any PS4.
