Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is 80% complete

The HD remastered version of Final Fantasy Type-0 is 80% complete, IGN confirmed today in an pre-PAX interview with Director Hajime Tabata.

According to their report, Type-0 HD will be a full retail product, although it remains unclear on when fans will be able to play it. The demo reel Square Enix had on-hand apparently showed the game running smoothly but “don’t expect the kind of visuals we saw at the XV demo back at E3 2013. It’s still definitely built upon the foundations of a game from 2011.”

Tabata also expressed his excitement on bringing the original handheld game to a bigger screen and ultimately a much bigger audience, although he remained coy about the possibility of a Vita version, despite Square Enix’s initial mix-up back in June. Final Fantasy Type-0 is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
