Square Enix has opened a new landing page today as a place of celebrations for Final Fantasy XIV’s fast-approaching one-year anniversary milestone. Over the next two months, the team plans to host a variety of special events, contests, broadcasts and more.

The first of which will commence on August 22nd at 8PM PDT wherein Yoshi-P has promised a 14-hour anniversary broadcast featuring interactive events and appearances by special guests, a revisit through the events of the Calamity through the eyes of key characters in a series of five short stories, stunning illustrations from the art team as we count down the one-year anniversary, and messages from the development team as they reflect upon the past year, among other things.

Fans will also have the opportunity to show their love for the world of Eorzea with the One Year Anniversary Movie contest and Casting Call for Eorzean Talent event. Special events will also be making their way in-game such as The Rising, a special in-game event commemorating the game’s first anniversary, Moonfire Faire and the Dragon Quest X, Final Fantasy XIII, and Final Fantasy XI collaboration events.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn launched on August 27th, 2013 and has since received great praise from fans and critics alike. As of today, the game currently sits at over 2 million registered users. The official anniversary website can be viewed here.
