New screenshots of the upcoming PS3 and PS4 action RPG Dragon Quest Heroes have surfaced online, showing off a variety of enemies, player characters and attack abilities. The game’s cast takes center stage here with main characters Akuto and Meer – who serve as captains of the Imperial Guards. Also shown is King Dirk and Julietta, who is the head of a magical research center and genius scholar.

Dragon Quest Heroes is being developed by Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force in collaboration with Armor Project and Square Enix and will feature many classic elements from the series. Although the concept of the game is based on the idea of one million Dragon Quest monsters, producer Ryutaro Ichimura insists that it’s not a “musou” title.

Dragon Quest Heroes is due out Spring 2015 and will be shown off at Tokyo Game Show starting this week. Expect its first gameplay and more throughout the event.
