Actually, Square Enix can't tell us when Final Fantasy XV's demo is coming out

UPDATE: According to a new post by Square Enix Europe community manager Dan Seto, the company actually has not confirmed the release date of the Final Fantasy XV demo. In the comments section, Dan writes that they will announce further details around the release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD in March.

ORIGINAL STORY: The wait for Final Fantasy XV’s “Episode Duscae” won’t be a long one, says Square Enix today. Through a post on the PlayStation Blog, a representative confirmed the demo is scheduled to launch alongside Final Fantasy Type-0 – hence its inclusion and hefty price tag.

“We really hope you’re excited about Final Fantasy XV – Episode Duscae and we can’t wait for you to let us know what you think about it when it is released on 20th March 2015 [in Europe],” the representative said. (March 17th for North America and March 19th for Japan.)

Episode Duscae will take place near the beginning of Final Fantasy XV with certain elements altered from the final version. The demo is said to be special in that it is meant to give players a better feeling of what Square Enix is going for without giving away the entire thing. You won’t have to worry about any plot spoilers – just play the game and get a handle on the new battle system.

Previous information had made the release timing unclear. We’ll be reaching out to Square Enix just in case, but in the meantime you can catch the game’s new trailer here.
