An accidental “leak” hanging around the outer edges of Sony’s Tokyo Game Show website may have tripped the cord on some new announcements heading to Japan this week, including a domestic release for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Japanese logos for Type-0 and other titles were found hidden in folders alongside the firm’s existing lineup and were promptly removed upon their discovery earlier this morning.
In addition to Type-0, several “Coming Soon” tiles indicate the HD remaster might not be the only new reveal. It’s worth noting the file number on the Type-0 image read as 55, while Dragon Quest Heroes was listed as 56. One of the unknown titles is 54 – which, as most of the titles on Sony’s site are grouped by publisher – might suggest a third Square Enix game to cap out this year’s lineup.
While Final Fantasy Type-0 has not been officially confirmed for Japan by Square Enix, its recent sightings at PAX and promises of a 2015 release date wouldn’t put it out of the realm of possibility. Expect more news as we head into TGS proper this week.
