Final Fantasy XIV Patch 2.4 dungeons, Rogue and Ninja previewed

With Final Fantasy XIV’s Patch 2.4 – Dreams of Ice – around the corner, Square Enix today released a wealth of official screenshots detailing some of their planned additions to the game. Of note is a closer look at the new Rogue class and its accompanying job, Ninja. Other images provide a look at the extension of the main scenario quest which will bring the player’s attention on the frozen nation of Ishgard.

With the landscape of Eorzea having undergone many changes since the fall of meteor, the ice wall known as Snowcloak has recently become accessible through a network of tunnels reaching deep beyond the known land. It is there that the classic beast Fenrir will make his appearance. Two other dungeons opening up include Hard Mode versions of the Sunken Temple of Qarn and Sastasha, which promise even more exploration and dangers within.

Dreams of Ice will also include the Final Coil of Bahamut, the game’s most challenging end-game raid, as well as the fight against the primal Shiva – in both Hard and Extreme flavors. More on the patch is expected to be revealed at the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest. We expect a final release date to be announced around then as well, although current speculation leads us to believe it could hit by the end of October.
