Final Fantasy Type-0 HD remastered soundtrack detailed

New details have surfaced online following the full release of Takeharu Ishimoto’s interview with Famitsu. As the composer of Final Fantasy Type-0, Ishimoto has been hard at work remastering his score in order to give overseas users a definitive experience. Because the budget for this project was small, he ended doing the bulk of the work on his own. The original Type-0 soundtrack was recorded in part at the Sydney Opera House with the staff there but this time Ishimoto completed the mixing solo.

This new version will include several changes from the original, including an English version of the song “Colorful Falling in Love.” SAWA – the singer known for music from The World Ends With You – translated the Japanese lyrics into English. As a result, Ishimoto says the new recording sounds more “grown-up” unlike the “girly” feel of the original. Ishimoto has also composed an all-new track, which he describes as “heavy” and hopes those who listen to it have an emotional experience.

The soundtrack will release on blu-ray music, and while details on pricing and release date remain under wraps, we speculate it’ll see its release sometime around the game launch in March. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is set to launch in North America on March 17, 2015, March 19th in Japan and Australia, and March 20th in Europe.
