Naoki Yoshida appeared on the Dragon Quest X event which aired live on NicoNico as a guest and announced that Final Fantasy XIV Update 2.5: Before the Fall part 1 will be Releasing Part 1 will be releasing on 20th January, 2015.

The 2.5 update will add a new raid and more to the main scenario, several trial battles including the return of Gilgamesh and Odin, and new dungeons: The Keeper of the Lake, The Wanderer’s Palace and Amdapor Keep Hard Modes. Patch 2.51, which will release some time later will introduce the Manderville Gold Saucer which includes various new mini games such as Chocobo Racing and Triple Triad. The second part of Before the Fall is planned for late March 2015.
