Dissidia Final Fantasy website updates with first screenshots By Erren Van Duine on February 18, 2015 at 1:39 AM

Square Enix has updated the official teaser site for the arcade version of Dissidia Final Fantasy today, adding several in-game screenshots and wallpapers in addition to the short video we saw last week.

This “reboot” will feature 3 on 3 combat – similar to other arcade games such as Gundam Extreme Versus – and has been designed differently from the original PSP versions. Based on what we’ve seen, the game will feature the Warrior of Light (FF), Tina/Terra (FFVI), Cloud (FFVII), Onion Knight (FFIII), Lightning (FFXIII) and Y’shtola (FFXIV).

Square Enix will be announcing further details on the arcade release at a press conference on April 10th.

I suppose going arcade first with this lets them work out the kinks on a bare bones version of the game. Then they can release a more fully featured and refined version on consoles.

    Right? Please!?

  • Hope they will be include different skins to the character like AC version of Cloud.

  • Sathil

Considering the older Dissidia games had multiple skins, including AC costume for Cloud, I wouldn’t think they would exclude that kind of option in a “bigger” environment for the series.

  • I’m not sure what, but something seems off with Y’shtola’s character model.

  • Randy Marsh

I think the better thing to bring up about Y’shtola is why is she casting Blizzaga when she’s supposed to be a Conjurer?

In all seriousness, I think that her character model looks a bitter thinner and younger that her actual FFXIV appearance, but that’s just me.

So, uh, it’s confirmed to be a reboot?

  • Allan

Any white mage can cast blizzard II as a cross skill in the game. And she seems to be a white mage because she also casts holy in this trailer.

  • I hope they add Caius Ballad from Final Fantasy XIII-2 as a playable character. Wrecking shit with his Chaos’s Revenge is going to be so much fun.

  • alexis

    Yes, absolutely.

  • Twilight Odin

Oh, okay. Just wanted to make sure.

I’d like to see (not counting people from past roster): Auron, Caius Ballad, Yuffie Kisaragi, Rikku, Vincent Valentine, Fran, and/or anyone from FFXV (it would probably end up being Noctis but I’d rather not because that’s too many swords lol). It would also be cool to see Red XIII, even.

A lot of people fight similar to each other to fit traditional archetypes for each game but idk they still made it work for past games

So… What are the odds of seeing this one in the west or on consoles maybe? It would be really nice to see this on Vita!

  • consoles most likely but vita is a no…just look a type-0

  • Randy Marsh

Very good point, it might be Blizzara she’s using. I assumed it was Blizzaga due to the spells animation and sound effects.
