Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Collector's Edition gets priced and detailed

Earlier this morning fans were given a deeper look at the Collector’s Edition for Final Fantasy XIV’s first expansion in Heavensward. Producer/director Naoki Yoshida revealed all on a special Letter from the Producer Live as well as detailing a bit of the final part of Patch 2.5 Before the Fall due later this month.

Before the Fall Part II will launch on March 31st and will include the conclusion to the A Realm Reborn storyline titled “Before the Dawn.” Fans will also be happy to know that at this time, the Final Coil of Bahamut will be entering the Duty Finder and have its weekly lockout restrictions removed. The World of Darkness will also be free-for-all at that point, allowing players to scoop up as much loot as they want.

Pre-orders for Heavensward go live on March 16 with North American fans able to do so on the Square Enix Online store starting from 2PM EDT. The Collector’s Edition will retail for $129.99 and come packed with a dragon mount statue, art book, promotional blu-ray, and in-game items such as a flying mount. Those that pre-order will also get an extra set of in-game goods along with the ability to participate in Early Access beginning worldwide on June 19th.

Next month Square Enix will also be releasing the benchmark for Heavensward which will allow players to mess around with character creation for the new Au Ra race for the first time. Around the same time, the company will be holding an exclusive Letter from the Producer Live on April 11th where they’ll be screening the new opening CG movie for Heavensward to a select number of people.
