Here’s some PS4 Final Fantasy X HD Footage By Alex Donaldson on May 13, 2015 at 6:39 PM

Square Enix is unleashing Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD Remaster for PlayStation 4 this week, and we’ve captured a little bit of footage from the new PS4 version of the former game just to give an idea of how it performs.

The truth of the matter is it’s largely the same, with similar (but allegedly slightly tweaked) character models and textures around the world of Spira, while the menus look as snazzy and as smooth as they did in the PlayStation 3 release. Even the save transfer system, shown in the video, remains intact.

New to this release is a switcher between the original soundtrack the arranged soundtrack the original¬†remastered release featured – so if you didn’t find that to your tastes you can now enjoy Uematsu’s original arrangements from the PS2. There’s of course a natural advantage in playing the game with the PS4’s more universal operating system behind the scenes too.

Check out the video below and our original review of the PS3 and Vita versions through this link. It’s out this week, and is available now via Amazon in both Limited and Regular Editions.

Simply gorgeous. Praise be to Spira. :3

I hate myself for saying this… But I actually prefer the newly arranged soundtrack now. I went from listening to the new OST back to the old one the other day and it just sounded so… dry.

I put this in the day I got it and i wasn’t expecting that big of an upgrade but my jaw hit the floor when i loaded up my save. Battles are almost instant, load times are way shorter and the graphics look phenomenal with full 1080 and AA and those colors really pop and the numerous npcs have faces mush more in line with the main cast. Cant wait to go through this again.

I like both but i was impressed with the new remaster from the start. Some people just don’t like change but i absolutely love it.

More to nostalgic I think, when I listen to old one it just make me remember when I first time play it. That aside both OST are not that different still feel same mostly

So this means that in this PS4 version of the game, we won’t be hearing the “orchestral” remaster they did with the PS3’s OST? I really wanted the new orchestral feel to it. I’m confused.

Sad to hear about the soundtrack glitch that keeps restarting songs after each battle.

  • Viktor Kateliev

what do you mean? it played the regular battle them, and then the fanfair victory music, and then the next track for the menu and xp data

They Screwed Tidus Face and replaced it with plastic surgery
