Final Fantasy XIV: Transfer of the Chaos Data Center to Europe

Square Enix will soon open the European server locations and while doing so, the Chaos data center will be transferred. This affects the game worlds Cerberus, Lich, Moogle, Odin, Phoenix, Ragnarok, Shiva and Zodiark.

You don’t need to do anything since the changes will be applied automatically after a maintenance for three to five days. European players should experience a significant reduction of latency then.

Square Enix will compensate the offline time of affected players with additional subscription time if you had an active account and characters before September 18, 2015.

Players residing outside of the EU may experience an increased latency and want to leave the Chaos data center. Within one week around the transfer, you can move from Chaos to the worlds Elemental, Gaia, Mana, Aether, or Primal for free.

If you are not “living” inside the Chaos data center and want to move there, you have to use the fee-based world transfer service.

An exact date for the data center transfer has not yet been announced.
