TGS 2015: Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna revealed for PS4 and PS Vita By Red Makuzawa on September 15, 2015 at 4:57 AM

During the SCEJA 2015 Press Conference today, Square Enix and Tokyo RPG Factory revealed Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna – previously known as Project Setsuna – for PS4 and PS Vita.

Touted as a “pure fantasy, true RPG” by the developers themselves, Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna offers up the feel of a 1990’s style RPG like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy. According to Famitsu, the game uses a battle system similar to FF’s own Active Time Battles with travel presented top down on the map.

Movement between battles and into the field is seamless and development on the game is currently at 60% complete.

The game is set to arrive in Japan in early 2016. Visit the teaser site here.

  • Wait a second. It looks like Final Fantasy Tactics (:

  • Just how many games are they planning on releasing within 2016???

  • Krijn van Alten

Who do you mean: Tokyo RPG factory, Square Enix as a producer, Square Enix as a publisher?

  • HalfLucan

Tokyo RPG factory, a subsidiary and first party developer to Square Enix who will then publish the game.

I think it just means they can compartmentalise the risk – a self funded “indie” project that can be assimilated (like KH) if it does well, or can be ignored if it doesn’t.

  • Umm… Square Enix in general??

  • Krijn van Alten

And the Japanese, American or European branch?

  • Krijn van Alten

First: the question was asked by Alex. Secondly, he did not asked who is producing or publishing it, but how many games ‘they’ are planning to release, without specifing who this ‘they’ are.

  • I want this game the most right now other than KH3 and XV.

  • HalfLucan

Its pretty obvious that he was referring to SE, so i made the presumption that you didn’t know what a first party developer was.

  • Krijn van Alten

    How naive you are.

  • Mad Scientist

As many as they fucking want Alex.
