    Pre-order cancelled

  • DesmaX

    Tsuyoshi Sekito CONFIRMED

  • Timothy Amesquita

    either yoko or ishimito

  • Martian Wong

Probably Yoko. But I hope the One Winged Angel will remain in the game without much change.

  • Get the guy from Crisis Core.

  • Leonesaurus

Simple solution? Just remix his work into an orchestrated version with an option to use HQ versions of the original, like some of the other remakes and remasters they’ve done. XIV does that a lot with Uematsu’s work from 1.0 with 2.0 and 3.0, don’t see why it wouldn’t work here also.

  • Do you even need new music at all? Fans will raise hell if any classics are tampered with or omitted.

  • Takeharu Ishimoto? He’s perfect!

  • Thomas Kolev

If Yoko Shimomura will do it we’ll be fine. Fingers crossed.

  • Thomas Kolev

They could just fully orchestrate it and it would be fine, I mean we’ve heard how that sounds many times with the live symphonies.

  • alfa

I just worried the music will change the whole of the game if nobuo not involved

  • D.3ND

    Day one! Still have OST.

  • MegamMix

Lol. I always thought the same thing given how many orchestra concerts have been done for ff7. Now if people want chiptune redone by nobuo, no idea on that one

  • They better not change it, they better not f***ing change it, that’s all I have to say about it!!! I don’t care if they re-arrange it or remix it or whatever, but we need those themes in the game otherwise they might as well name it something else!

  • SNK

First time I hate Nobuo Uematsu.

  • Miqote

Calm down. You sound like a child

  • Miqote

Oh so you weren’t a fan to begin with? Grow up.

  • HalfLucan

This guy is going to have an aneurysm when he finds out its an ARPG

  • NotCarolKaye

Don’t worry, it’ll be the original music newly arranged. There’d be no reason to change it.

  • Wazi the pa

Guys, it’s okay if he doesn’t do the music for the remake. There are plenty of other great composers whom have done a great deal of work and is capable of modernizing FFVII’s music. If you guys have heard of Takeharu Ishimoto’s work from Crisis Core, then you understand what I mean.

  • Billy Jackson

You think he doesn’t have any reasons?

  • Xervath

    Yes!
Either him, Yoko Shimomira (FFXV / Street fighter), or Tsuyoshi Sekito (Last remnant)

Regardless: the music is already made, now all “we” have to do is make sure the OST doesn’t end up the same as the FFX remake.

  • Shami

    I agree .
The Price for Freedom is EPIC
And to be honest the entire soundtrack was awesome for Crisis Core so with or without Uematsu’s input if Ishimoto is on board for the remake then we have nothing to worry about

  • Takeharu Ishimoto would be a great fit

  • CocaineCowboyFF7

It’s you that needs to grow up, my child.

  • CocaineCowboyFF7

Why is everyone saying Yoko? Please no. We need Mitsuda. By far the best composer that worked at Square, and Uematsu was a great.

  • Mihel

If Yoko Shimomura will do it we’ll not just be fine, we’ll be way better.

  • Mihel

Uematsu was great, but his latest works have been pretty uninspired – though nowhere near bad.
Can’t say I’ll miss him, there are plenty of gifted composers at Square that aren’t half as overrated.

  • Lan

What if he’s just throwing us off? @[email protected]

  • Dick

New remake – new style. I’m okay with it, though it’s a shame such a talented composer isn’t involved.

  • CC and Type0 had great music. Any Black Mage could do it.

  • Exactly

  • MegamMix

Hell still be credited for composition.

  • MegamMix

Although I hate to agree, this is true. It’s obvious Shimomura and Hamauzu have been getting more work.

  • Miqote

    Your the one named cocainecowboy

  • stevenm281

I’d rather Naoshi Mizuta or Takeharu Ishimoto.

  • Dick

Oh, of course – on his own songs that are arranged for the game.

  • Victor Petersson

We really need to hear more about this game at PSX before jumping to conclusions

  • Kaizokugami

Huh. Didn’t expect that. Will be interesting to see who will compose for this one.

  • Hiroyuki Sawano

  • Daniel Masterson

Well since the soundtrack is already made you dont even have to do anything. 😉

  • Well… We will have to wait untill Jump Festa 2015 to get some new info about the game? ._.

  • 2016*

  • 2016? But it hasn’t being held yet.

  • stevenm281

Jump Festa always use the upcoming year number.

In 2014, it was Jump Festa 2015 (they’re celebrating games that will release in the 2015 year)

So now, in 2015, it’s Jump Festa 2016.

  • ADAMJENSEN13

The music in the trailer that was shown on Sony E3 was FANTASTIC! The iconic sounds we heard were arranged really awesome so I think we dont have to worry about soundtrack.
I hope that One winged angel will be as amazing as it was in original and Advent Children.
Cant wait to see gameplay of that remake. I hope this will be the best game EVER.

FF7 is my favorite FF, FF is the best RPG and I hope remake will beat all of them!

  • Ooh got it! Thanks a bunch.

  • CocaineCowboyFF7

    You’re*

  • Justice V

I did love Crisis Core’s soundtrack, and still listen to it from time to time. Though I’m not sure if I’d want the FFVII remake to have as much Rock influence. But who knows it might work perfectly. Or he might go a different route and still kill it. We’ll see.

  • Justice V

With how Lords of Shadow 1 and 2 were recorded using a live symphony I pretty much want every game with an awesome soundtrack to record symphonies doing the music.

  • Thomas Kolev

We already have the music of FF7 so it would just make sense.

  • Kumomeme

Too bad..because if you refering to the ffvii remake announcement trailer, the music used was from advent children which is composed by nobuo uematsu himself…to bad really need his magical touch to refresh the music..after all,his music is one of important things that bring ffvii’s atmosphere and helped the game to resonate with players..his music are always heart touching

  • Kumomeme

The original soundtrack need to be redone dude…i was released 1997…the music back in the daya need retouch with modern technologies nowdays

  • Kumomeme

Yeah since they done really great job for crisis core..but uematsu’s touch are really specials

  • Daniel Masterson

hence winky face at the end brah. meant to be tongue in cheek dude.

  • Kumomeme

Yeah…but i personally things uematsu deserved and he still unmatched atleast in realm of final fantasy franchise..his work on advent children are brilliant..his music always heart touching..and ffvii is one of his great masterpiece…one winged and of advent children really awesome…and sound track like cloud smiles was really beatifully composed..we can still hoped right..:(

  • ADAMJENSEN13

Youre right. But Im trying to say that there are many great composers working for Square Enix. Like Yoko Shimomoura whose music is Mega Brilliant! So There will be probably no problems to compose that music again.

  • FF7REMAKE

the opening bombing mission music is taken from Distant Worlds music from FINAL FANTASY its says in the last part of the trailer this is not the remake music more focus ppl !!!
