Square Enix has announced that a port of Final Fantasy IX is headed to smartphones and PC sometime “soon”.

From the trailer above, we see that the game has received a modified interface to be compatible with smartphones. Originally released in 2000, Final Fantasy IX was the last numbered entry to appear on the original PlayStation.
