Final Fantasy XIV Patch 3.15 Preview

Final Fantasy XIV‘s new content update, Patch 3.15, is right around the corner — scheduled to be released some time before the end of the month. Today, Square Enix shares a preview of some of the new adventures players can sink their teeth into:

Saint Endalim’s Scholasticate
After the truth of Ishgard’s history is revealed, the students of the Holy See’s finest seminary find themselves in a precarious position. The Warrior of Light joins a familiar face in investigating the trials and tribulations of the future clergymen and women.

Previously alluded to as a school-type scenario, a sidequest involving Saint Endalim’s Scholasticate seems to follow the turmoil in Ishgard regarding the secrets of the Dragonsong War and events of the Heavensward and As Goes Light, So Goes Darkness chapters.

Anima Weapons
A young researcher hailing from the Near East has come to Eorzea in search of aid. His field of study? Anima, an essence he considers to be a reflection of the soul. Through a chance encounter with the master craftsman Gerolt, he and the legendary blacksmith have joined forces to create a weapon the likes of which the realm has never seen.

Patch 3.15 will also see the return of Gerolt, here to forge a new series of relics called the “Anima” weapons. By undertaking a series of tasks, players will able to upgrade the strength (and item level) of their relic weapon. Over the course of the post-release patches, additional “tiers” are added to further strengthen it.

We’re expecting more information on Patch 3.15 and future content releases to be revealed in Letter from the Producer Live XXVI, which will air Wednesday, December 23rd, at 2:30 AM (US Pacific). Keep an eye out for the return of the Starlight Celebration and Heavensturn seasonal events too. They’re set to kick off this month.
