Final Fantasy XIV Patch 3.2 Alexander Midas Preview

Final Fantasy XIV’s next content patch The Gears of Change is right around the corner, so it won’t be long until players will unlock the next raid tier – Alexander: Midas. A series of four trials will put a Full Party (read: eight players) to the test, and its Savage mode difficulty will become the hardest content Eorzea has to offer.

Square Enix shows us more of the raid in the form of screenshots and character models showing the gear you can loot from it. We’ve also got a blurb prepping you for the continuing tale revolving around Alexander’s enigmatic appearance:

“Though its core was disabled, the colossal steel giant still hums with a foreboding sense of dread. The Illuminati are gearing up for war, and Alexander has thrust yet another arm up and out of the Thaliak river, continuing its climb from the murky depths. Will the Illuminati realize their warped ideals and bleed the realm dry? Once again you must call forth your allies and venture into the iron fortress, lest the realm bears the price of the goblins’ endeavor.”

Unlike Alexander: Gordias, the first tier introduced shortly after Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward’s June 2015 release, both difficulty modes of Midas will be available on patch day. Before you can tackle the Savage mode difficulty, you’ll need to clear Midas’s four trials on Normal. Based on feedback from Gordias, producer/director Yoshida explained some of Midas’s damage checks won’t be as unforgiving, but assures the raid will still be very difficult.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 3.2: The Gears of Change releases February 23rd, 2016.
