Square Enix ending the official Japanese Final Fantasy XV forums

UPDATE: Square Enix has told Nova Crystallis the English version of the forums will remain open and they’ve not discussed a closure for the time being. If plans change they’ll notify members on the forum, but for now the forums will continue to be a place for fans to talk about Final Fantasy XV.

ORIGINAL: After several months Square Enix has decided to terminate the Japanese version of the official Final Fantasy XV forums.

According to a new post by the Business Division 2 community team, the company has decided to replace the forum with a new blog starting on February 12th. Their decision was reached after considering the ease of the blog format itself and its accessibility to Japanese users.

Once the blog opens, fans will be able to access it straight from the official Final Fantasy XV website and comments from developers as seen on the forum will be preserved there. Fans will still be able to write comments provided they have access to a Square Enix Members account as well.

To those who enjoyed the forums, Square Enix apologizes for the inconvenience. It’s currently unknown if this change will eventually extend to the English language version of the forum but we’ll be sure to update you should the details arise.
