Official Final Fantasy XIV dev diary highlights visual design

Square Enix is back with a new official developer diary for Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward, highlighting the visual design of the game’s first expansion.

In this episode, we meet lead designer Takeo Suzuki, lead background artist Junichi Murata, character artist Yuji Mitsushi, and lead animator Shinya Ichida. Topics include the graphic design of the game’s environments and the challenge of designing flying mounts. Director/producer Naoki Yoshida bookends the video with a message to viewers.

Final Fantasy XIV is now available for Windows PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Mac. Patch 3.2 “The Gears of Change” went live on February 23rd 2016. You can check out our recent impressions here.
