Rise of the Tomb Raider adds DirectX 12 support

Starting today, those who own the Steam version of Rise of the Tomb Raider will be able to enjoy a new update enabling DirectX 12 support thanks to Nixxes and Crystal Dynamics.

In adding DirectX 12 to the game, processors will be able to spread CPU rendering work over all CPU cores, without introducing additional overhead. This will enable users with high-end graphics cards but low-end CPU to run the game at higher frame-rates, graphical settings and other technical enhancements.

More information on the update and what it means for Rise of the Tomb Raider can be read over on the game’s official blog.

The Windows 10 version of the game will see its own update later and a PlayStation 4 version is scheduled to release later this year.
