Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV commercial promotes Japanese theatrical release

Square Enix has released a short video promoting Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV today – seemingly the first in a series leading up to the film’s theatrical release in Japan.

As we learned back at Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV, Kingsglaive is a full-featured CGI movie set alongside the Final Fantasy XV game and told from the perspective of Noctis’ father, King Regis. While the movie focuses on Regis, the game itself will focus on Noctis’ side of things along with the importance of the bond between father and son. Kingsglaive won’t be required viewing to understand the full story, but will offer more depth for those interested in the Final Fantasy XV universe.

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will hit Japanese theaters starting on July 9th. Those who pre-order tickets are eligible to receive a A3 sized metallic poster upon purchase.
