Square Enix has posted new screenshots for Dragon Quest Heroes II, featuring Alena, Kiryl, Maya, Terry, and Jessica. Additionally, the publisher detailed how classic series’ monsters can assist in battle, or even be transformed into.

By picking up monster coins dropped in combat, the player can use these to call upon the abilities of the many monster types. There are three types of monster coins.

• Transform – Allows the player to transform into the monster for a short period of time, like the Stone Golem.
• Support – Calls the monster to aid the player in battle for a short period of time, like the Skeleton Soldier.
• Assist – Calls the monster to aid the player with a special ability, like the Firespirit creating a firey vortex on the battlefield.
