During today’s Dissidia Final Fantasy broadcast via Niconico, Square Enix revealed the first Chaos character making its way to the 3 vs. 3 arcade title – Garland from Final Fantasy.

As a Heavy type fighter, Garland focuses on powerful physical attacks and his skills are quite close to the ones we saw in the PSP version of the game. Kenji Utsumi – who voiced Garland in the previous Dissidia – unfortunately passed away and Square Enix has turned to Koji Ishii as his replacement.

Additionally, players can expect a new update on April 21st that will feature several costume color swaps, new weapons and character balancing.

Dissidia Final Fantasy for the arcade premiered with 14 heroes from each numbered Final Fantasy game released so far. We heard months before the game released in late November last year that a console version is still under consideration following a year of arcade exclusivity.
