UPDATE: Utada Hikaru isn't working on a new song for Kingdom Hearts III quite yet

UPDATE (12/23/2016): Utada Teruzane returned to Twitter today with a brief correction on his original statement. He says that while they’re eager to get involved with Kingdom Hearts III, the decision to do so is not official as of yet.

ORIGINAL: Recently confirmed on Twitter by Utada Teruzane, father and manager to Utada Hikaru, his daughter is indeed working on a new theme song for Kingdom Hearts III, and that they’ve already begun work on it.

You undoubtably know of Utada’s songs both used in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II with their respective theme songs, “Simple and Clean” and “Sanctuary”. Until today, fans have questioned whether or not Utada would be creating the new theme song to the long awaited finale of the Kingdom Hearts series.

Fans can now rest assured that another iconic theme song will be created for Kingdom Hearts III following in the footsteps of its prequels.

Next in line for the series is Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue which will release worldwide next month on January 24th, 2017. Included in this title, and revealed in TGS 2016 trailer, is a remix of “Simple and Clean” done by Japanese producer PUNPEE. This remix will be featured in its own EP set to release on January 11th, 2017 which you can read about here.
