Kingdom Hearts III screenshot celebrates Final Fantasy VII's 20th anniversary By Erren Van Duine on January 31, 2017 at 1:35 PM

It seems everyone is joining in on today’s festivities, what with Final Fantasy VII celebrating 20 years since it launched in Japan. Over on the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account, fans were treated to a new screenshot from Kingdom Hearts III – recreating the iconic key artwork from so long ago.

The pose is a clear reference to this image, which was used as the cover art on the North American version of FFVII.

This new screenshot sits alongside a proper reveal for Final Fantasy VII Remake as well. Earlier Square Enix provided a new key visual for the game featuring Cloud and Sephiroth over a backdrop of Midgar.

Kingdom Hearts III is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
