NieR: Automata has officially gone gold

Square Enix producer Yosuke Saito took to Twitter just recently to announce NieR: Automata’s ‘gold’ status. This means the game has completed its main development cycle and is now in a ready-state to meet its promised release date(s).

In the same tweet, the producer noted the game actually finished development a while ago, but decided to announce it now since it’s a trend for developers to do that sort of thing.

In case you missed it, Saito and the rest of the NieR: Automata team did a Q&A session with Square Enix UK not too long ago in which they answered a bucket-load of questions from fans, including details of the game’s length, the possibility of a Nintendo Switch version and plenty more. NieR: Automata is due to release for PlayStation 4 on February 23 in Japan, March 7 in North America and March 10 in Europe. A PC version is scheduled to release via Steam in 2017. Square Enix recently put up a PlayStation 4 demo for the game which is available to download worldwide. Click here to learn about its contents.
