Netflix grabs Final Fantasy's first TV drama, Final Fantasy XIV: Daddy of Light

Final Fantasy‘s first original TV drama series featuring Final Fantasy XIV is heading to Netflix around the world. The online streaming service is set to bring the show to international viewers starting this Fall.

According to an update on the official website, “Final Fantasy XIV: Daddy of Light” will air in Japan on MBS and TBS starting April 16. The show will also be available on Netflix in Japan starting April 20.

This drama coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Final Fantasy mainline series and is inspired by the true story of a father and son’s relationship that gradually changes due to their encounters in Final Fantasy XIV. The series will feature the real game showing what it’s like to participate in the online game world and stars Japanese actors Yudai Chiba and Ren Oosugi playing the part of the main characters.
