Here's your last chance to play Final Fantasy XIV for free on PlayStation 3

Square Enix is preparing to give PlayStation 3 users one last hurrah before service will end for their version of Final Fantasy XIV on June 16, 2017. Starting May 1 PS3 players are invited to play the game for free until the conclusion of service.

Those eligible include users that have registered the PS3 version of FFXIV and play using a PS3 as well as users with multiple platforms registered to one service account can play for free when logging in from a PS3 system.

Please note, during the campaign period, players who have only registered the PlayStation 3 version without subscribing for any number of days will be unable to utilize additional services or website related features such as logging into the Lodestone. Service accounts that have been canceled or suspended are not eligible to participate.

Additionally, beginning May 1, 2017, PS3-only users will no longer be able to purchase game time or retainer services.

To facilitate the end of the PS3 client, PS3 users can upgrade to the PlayStation 4 version for free through the game’s current upgrade campaign. More on the upgrade campaign can be found here.
