Learn the quirks of Dragon Quest XI's monster mount system

Square Enix has gone live with another update to Dragon Quest XI’s official Japanese website and gives viewers a first look at the game’s monster mount system in the form of screenshots and information.

Monster Ride

By borrowing the unique abilities of different monsters, the main character can travel to places they could never otherwise reach. Climb up walls and soar through the sky with ease thanks to these monsters!

You can climb the most ridiculous of cliffs on the back of a monster!

Ride on a monster and travel to places you could never travel by foot alone!

In certain areas you can even use a monster to get past broken walls!

Let’s Ride a Monster

Some of the monsters you will encounter can be ridden. Beat ’em up and go for a ride.

When you defeat a monster in battle…

You’ll be able to ride the defeated monster!

New Mountable Monsters

Bee Rider

Bee Rider

The elite in the Octovolt world ride on the backs of these big bees. They utilize the bee’s stinger as well as their own spear for a skillful offense.

Pearl Mobile

Pearl Mobile

A machine made of a mysterious metal with the brilliance of a pearl. It’s capable of bathing its opponents in a numbing gas.

Ride the Bee Rider across the other side of the lake!

Ride the Pearl Mobile and jump up on top of the hill!
