Dragon Quest XI gameplay shows off game's opening on 3DS; Delcadar Kingdom on PS4

During the game’s latest “Countdown Carnival” hands-on event in Fukuoka, Square Enix showed off 26 minutes of never before seen gameplay footage from Dragon Quest XI running on both Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4.

For the 3DS version, the footage shows the opening of the RPG in both of its 2D and 3D play styles. As for the PlayStation 4 version, the company showed off a long segment of the participating player exploring the Decladar Kingdom while accepting a few quests along the way.

In the same live event, Square Enix also revealed the next possible restriction for the game’s “Restricted Play” mode system, which allows players to experience the game as normal, but with particular features disabled.

Based on the image above, it seems that players will no longer be able to flee from battles while the restriction mode is enabled.

Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time is set to release for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS on July 29 in Japan, with its Nintendo Switch version currently in development.
