Final Fantasy XV's update 1.12 now available

Square Enix clearly remain very committed to updating and improving Final Fantasy XV – with many of these updates continue to stretch beyond bug fixes or tweaking broken bits of the game.

The latest update is now live, and its banner feature is an all-new change – the ability to drive the Regalia car off-road. This is something that’d been teased when Square began asking for fan feedback on what should be added to the game.

This latest update, patch 1.12, will take up 8.65 gigabytes of space on PS4 – it’s a big one.

The update does the following:

  • Adds the Regalia Type-D car, which can drive off road like a monster truck.
  • Prepares the game for the release of the Episode Prompto DLC, which is out on the 27th June and available via the game’s season pass.
  • Adds Episode Prompto music to the in-game radio during regular, non-DLC gameplay. The music is by FF MMO alumni Naoshi Mizuta.

Final Fantasy XV is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Square Enix has promised to share further developments on the project at this year’s Gamescom.
