Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition due out for PC early 2018 By Erren Van Duine on August 21, 2017 at 6:59 AM

Final Fantasy XV‘s oft-teased PC version will arrive early next year, Square Enix revealed today. Due to release as an Nvidia collaboration, the PC version will include several new upgrades over its console counterparts.

New features include 4K resolution textures, Dolby Atmos audio support, realistic grass and hair simulation, combustible fire, smoke and fluid simulation, first person camera mode and more. The game will be available across Windows 10, Steam and Origin.

According to Square Enix, the PC version will come loaded with all previous DLC included – both free and from the Season Pass. They’ve also provided some screenshots detailing the released, linked in the gallery below.

Finally confirmed. I think it’s a good time to upgrade my gtx 970.

  • GreedIsSin

Is this the new big thing that they said they were going to announce this month ? Please tell me it’s not

  • Jon Idoncair

if anybody is surprised about this, then you’re a fucking idiot

i’m glad i wanted for this

  • Krijn van Alten

I wouldn’t have my hopes up to high if I was you. Cause after the multiplayer, Episode Ignis and this, I have no clue what more we should expect.

  • GreedIsSin

Yeah i’m losing my hope here … I thought it was going to be like a big thing for the actual game, with like the world of ruin that people want so much ( it’s kinda meh for me tho), or more story, or something from that poll made months ago in game, or something else.. basically something that helped the game itself… *sigh* -.-

  • Luke Watts

Lol if those differences are that big of a deal to you or anyone else, then I’m sorry, but the fucking idiots aren’t who you think they are.

  • Zero_mask

I dont know about this. atleast more people get to experience this one of a kind….

disappointed games of the decade. peaceout.

  • Syul

Not the only announcement, you can rest assured since they talked in plural :3

  • GreedIsSin

*hug* for giving me a little hope 🙂

  • Lucas Nóbrega Maia

World of Ruin will probably be expanded in the multiplayer.
If the survey , we probably will receive more playable characters and maybe Episode Ardyn.

  • Syul

*hugs back* _< It would be awesome if it has to do with the survey… If they show something Ardyn-related I'll just die of happiness to be honest, haha.

  • Serj_Angelo

Generally excited for the possibility of modding and steady 60fps
But the 1st person mode looks really awkward and not suited for this type of game. Not the combat at least

  • Invictus

Congrats PC owners! You get to experience a full FFXV game! Enjoy. 🙂

  • Invictus

    Hah. More carnival time?

  • Adam Hedquist

As long as the pc version is mod friendly I’m satisfied. The story will always be mediocre but with mods the gameplay and the world can be oh so good

  • Randy Marsh

Final Fantasy XV: Toss Your PS4 Out the Windows Edition.

Hehe….man the PS4 version looks pretty mediocre when compared to the quality upgrade in this. Well at least we have a PS5 version ready now…

  • Gabriel Hage

    Not worth the money…

  • Vallen

Honestly, instead of fixing the game, they do this crap. Who cares about grass or hair physics. They should have prioritized adding to the broken story – and only do the PC port after the game is fixed. Am I supposed to be excited for this?

  • Vallen

Dude, you do realize that they will pump out a GOTY edition for consoles eventually too?

  • Games Das

I want to know how much resolution and fps can I attain with Maxwell Titan X for Final Fantasy XV?
Also the PC Edition is not really a breakthrough because
1.If you own the game on PS4,you can stream it on PC using PS Now subscription.
2.If you own the game on Xbox One,you can play it on PC through Xbox Live subscription.
Hence, there is no actual need for buying the game if you already own the PS4 or Xbox One version.
Though it will be interesting to see if a PC with a Maxwell Titan X can really achieve 8K,that is my PC.

  • Jon Idoncair

fucking idiots to anybody remotely surprised this game is going to be on PC……………not some DLC extras smh

  • Games Das

    As if…

  • Kyle

Pretty underwhelming trailer, but at least they finally announced that it’s happening. Of course it’s not a surprise. I still enjoy playing the game off and on, but I’m not going to delve into it like I did when the game was first released.

The biggest thing Square needs to fix with this game for me is the shooting bug in Episode Prompto. None of the shots feel direct. They also need fix the item drops for the DLC. We should be getting great stuff in that DLC. Not two measly items to bring back to the adventure.

They will clearly bring all of the DLC to the PC version on day one. SO please polish it a bit Square. Do not drawback on the Episodes just because they are not a part of the main game.

  • Invictus

more complete than what we have right now

  • Games Das

Do not worry. The PS4 and Xbox versions are Square Enix’s top priority now. This PC Edition is nothing except a showcase for the company as if no gamer knows the quality of their PC Editions.
They will be majorly focusing on the patches and Episode Ignis due this december.

  • Games Das

Come on.The game is not that bad.It is sufficiently enjoyable though I liked Persona 5 and Ryu Ga Gotoku 6 more.

  • Games Das

Final Fantasy XV Deluxe Edition already exists. The price was $89.99 when I preordered it on the Playstation Store.Do you think a Game of the year Edition will even be essential for Square Enix to release?
Also Final Fantasy XV will not be the Game of the year 2017,so rest assured.

  • stevenm281

a GOTY or Complete Edition always occurs when a game has DLC after release, so that once all DLC are released, the company releases the product once again, but with everything included in it.

You can bet your ass that FF15 will see such edition down the line.

  • Invictus

enjoyed it for what it has. gameplay and graphics-wise

  • Mehmed

    i think exactly like you..

  • Vallen

A GOTY edition happens for most games with DLC, you’re mixing up the complete version and a nominated game – two different and independent things.

  • JTD95

The game will take up 170gb space on the PC. That’s insane!

  • Randy Marsh

I was referring to the graphical updates that can only be done on the PC version. Why on earth would I care about the DLC being added when I have already played them? Such a confusing person you are….

  • Doesntwork247

they are thinking about milking every cent off of this game without adding anymore creative content.

  • Yuntu

That would imply we already know the price.

  • Yuntu

Putting your game on all avaiable platforms is now considered milking … okay lol

  • Doesntwork247

yep when it’s half assed and unfinished. and ever heard of final fantasy a new empire? that’s troll level milking.

  • Dod

Except everyone already finished the whole game, woops, don’t care !

  • Randy Marsh

Not everyone. I know plenty of PC players that play with me on FFXIV that have yet to touch FFXV since they don’t get consoles. So a good amount of PC players will be able to touch this finally to either go “cool” or “meh”.

  • •december

    Ah, yes.
    Advanced Hair Simulation
…I’m sold. Just what the game needed.

  • •december

    THE ANNOUNCEMENT IS TODAY APPARNTLY
    I completely forgot

  • Yuntu

    Okay.

  • Ryuke
  • EnclosureHD

    omfg… Casual much…

  • EnclosureHD

its all about the GAMENOTWORKS BS BRO!!! hahaha 😀

  • Dod

Granted, I was assuming everyone already bought a PS4 for this game, which may not always be true. The only thing I’d say to you guys is : don’t get your hopes too high.

  • MajoraMan28

    Source?
Bc I have no faith in Tabata anymore.

  • Syul

Things that happen, when memory trolls it’s so annoying xD Although… I mean, is it today the only day in which Square-Enix “talks/shows”?

Because honestly, as much as I was expecting one thing and the other surprised me (and the next free update for XV is nice to me), I was hoping for something survey-related D:

But, well, if they don’t show more this Gamescom, at least there’s TGS and Paris Games Week “soon”, I guess? >.<

  • Games Das

What?Does such a game even exist?Including all the Playstation,Xbox and PC games I have ever played,DOOM(Steam) is the first largest at 80 GB and Grand Theft Auto V(Rockstar Games Social Club) is the second largest at 78 GB.
You sure about the 170 GB size because that’s just not possible due to the lossy/lossless compression techniques available in the 21st century!

  • Syul

    It’s not over yet though.

For what I’ve seen, it seems that there’s still another announcement for FFXV in this Gamescom, but they haven’t told when will they reveal it.

I’m clinging to the hope that they might have left the best for the end and that they’ll show something related to the survey, but who knows… I mean, so far, who would have expected a Pocket version, or that tease that FFXV may end up being for Switch too?

I don’t exactly know what to expect, to be honest xD But I hope they just say it soon because impatience is killing me…

  • Marc Balgro

Wonder if S-E will fix the PS4 Pro version at least with future patches or leave it run currently as how it performs in the system. Still no doubt that the X1X will perform better and on par with PC version either way.

  • Casper

Unless the price is -$60 then yeah it’s not worth the money

  • Casper

    Versus XIII mods await

  • Games Das

    On par with PC…As if…
