Final Fantasy XV Universe TGS trailer teases additional story content By Erren Van Duine on September 20, 2017 at 9:15 PM

Square Enix has released a new trailer detailing the Final Fantasy XV Universe. While a number of games in the project are already available, players can expect further DLC such as Episode Ignis, Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades and additional story content in the future.

Furthermore, the game’s next update promises an increase to the Hunt capacity. Check out the full rundown below.

Final Fantasy XV is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A PC version for Windows is scheduled to launch early next year.

Makes me wonder after all DLC and the Windows Edition is available S-E will release a complete package on one disc that includes all complete content and updates for the PS4 and X1 versions with full 4K enhancement for Pro and X with 60 FPS.

I’m wondering if it’s worth the effort for me to re-experience everything I’ve played through of the game just to experience the new extra bits of context to the game’s story.

While I could just simply select the relevant chapter containing the additional story content (assuming it’s content I can’t access directly from the title menu), I can’t help but feel reluctant to think that this is okay to do for a game that is, at release, meant to be so narratively-driven, but in reality it’s shaped itself as a game that’s aspiring to be that (by releasing it when plenty of players have already experienced the main story the first time around), which I find disappointing.

I’m not particularly a huge fan of their approach, and I suppose I’m saying this now because I personally don’t want this to be a trend for future mainline titles.

But hey, that’s just my opinion. I’m curious to hear anyone else’s thoughts on this.

  • Mayumi Kato

    in 2019 yeah it will

  • Croesys

    Wazi,

I think you hit the problem on the head with your explanation. FFXV was supposed to be a narrative-driven game (FF have always been like this; it’s one of their main appeals). However, the game released in Nov 2016 was one that effectively “dropped the ball” in its story telling with its myriad plot problems and its pacing, especially in the 2nd act.

Personally, when I play a game for its story, I play it only once because it’s in that first playthrough that I feel the full emotional effect of the story. I come back, post-ending, to explore afterwards, but at this point, I expect the narrative to have already played out (and if that narrative was good, I feel a sense of fulfillment). FFXV went the opposite direction; it was released with missing components and now Tabata and the team are trying to fill those holes.

Don’t get me wrong; I enjoyed the game overall, but I’m unlikely to return it simply to see new content. Overall, I found SE’s handling of the game’s development disappointing as I had been waiting for this game since its days as Versus 13 under Nomura.

  • stevenm281

    Holy cow! This is marvelous!!!!

Ravus being Ignis’ ally? OMFG YESSSSSS!

Free additional story scenes? YESSSSSS!!!! (Please put at least an hour or two of cutscenes)

  • Artemis Polara

If they’re doing what I’m thinking they’re doing (with the giant shiva being surrounded), I wanted to see that play out… Hell I imagined they might do an Ardyn Episode where he took part in the battle to slay her giant form.

  • Adam Hedquist

Yea, you nailed it. We should tell them now that this isn’t accepable and that we expect a much higher quality on the story telling, because frankly, the story was on an amateur lvl bad. It has all the pieces for a good story but it is so poorly constructed. The lack of context, bad pacing, important parts left out the game that should’ve been in from the start, not to mention the movie where the story is just as bad and also should’ve been in the game, if not also playable.

The first story writing rule 101: ”Show, don’t tell” is completely lost here and all these failures and desicions they’ve made with XV’s story is mind boggling and should be embarrassing for a company like SE. The relationships between Noctis/Regis, Noctis/Luna are the worst offenders here but most of the relationships and the connection between player/character were lost, bad, mediocre at best.

I still care about XV so much. It will always be the most tragic part of my gaming life as it was THE game I’ve always wanted and the potential I saw it had will never leave me either. Lol, Ik I sound dramatic here, but damnit gaming has been a passion since I was old enough to hold stuff in my hands without dropping them and jrpg’s has always been my favorite genre and I know they can do so much better and it saddens me to see that they completely dropped the ball on every lvl on XV’s story. It shouldn’t be acceptable for fans and it should definitely not be acceptable within SE.

Rushing out the game with half the story missing and the story that is there is poorly constructed only for them to desperately try to patch it all together afterwards should not be accepable and they should know that, but I have to say that I like that they’re trying. Just because I still hold Versus/XV so close to my heart I still want the best for it. So for just this one time, I’ll support them in fixing the story even tho it might be a impossible task given with what we have. It’s the first time they do this, let’s hope that it’s the last time too.

  • CallMeGod

Nope this piece of shit is not worth it. Play it once and beat it already medicore FF game. No matter how much they try to update it with story content it’s still lackluster, my first impression will never change and it just sadden me that we waited 10 years for this game for them to have the audacity to sell us a incomplete piece of shit like this. It deserve all the hate it gets because we wait 10 fucking years just to be treat with a crap game that is being milk to death while they try to finish the beta game they sold to us. SE is just a laughing stock at the moment and the FF reputation have fallen so low only blinded fanboys would accept this kind of shit from SE and defend FF15.

  • It’s so obvious with this game that they were pushed for time. Maybe we pressured them as well. I still remember what happened when Tabata announced it was being pushed back a couple of months. Even I overreacted.

I think that, given everything that was released to the public and everything that eventually made it into the final version of the game, there was probably a lot they couldn’t do with it and a lot that was left out due to these time restrictions. it’s incomplete.

Having said that, I definitely don’t mind going back to it every now and again to see what else they bring to fill in the gaps, however it’s not going to have the same impact that it would’ve had if it were in the original version of the game. Seeing how Ignis gets blinded during the game won’t be the same as seeing it during my first playthrough. Some people may have even forgotten that fact.

Versus XIII/XV, along with the original version of XIV, are things that Square Enix used to learn from. I think it will show with Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy VII Remake as well, but I don’t think they’ll be making the same mistakes in the future. They understand how important content is to their players and how a meaningful story comes above all else. I still have faith in them.

  • Nayame Prado

to me, Luna will only work should she stays on the party, either chapter rewrite wherein she would join temporarily or separate content solely for her otherwise I’d still feel nothing about her

  • Ryuke

Yep, you nailed it there in my opinion. I think my biggest disappointment with XV in general is the approach taken, not the game itself. The game was technically pretty sound, looked and played great for the most part, but then lacked on story and character development as there was so many bits missing or pulled out for DLC. And now SE have the audacity to go back and patch in these important moments that, in my opinion are vital to the narrative, after the game has launched and at this point almost been on shelves for a year.
They are relying on fans to just shallow this approach and like it, and I really think it’s the fans duty to make it known that this is not acceptable or else this will continue.

The free patches with new hunts and festivals, whatever. The multiplayer expansion, whatever. Add them in after, they are bolted on to the main experience and entirely optional. But adding in what looks like vital Ifrit and Shiva plot lines, development for Ardyn, development for Ravus… this should have been in there at launch. Even the additional small scenes already added should have been there. There is no excuse, other than running out of time in which case a story driven game, that relies on a strong narrative to keep it moving, should be delayed to ensure that the story is all there.

Unfortunately though, I think we’ll always be a vocal minority, and the ones to lap it up or are just ignorant to the development process and these online discussions are the stronger voices, who will pave the way for this to happen again. Which is totally fine, each to their own and all that. But I can’t help but feel we’re damaging our favourite franchise more than helping it.

  • Bazztek

I always can’t help but laugh at cancerous Versus fanboys like you.

  • •december

I know all this new content won’t come close to explaining the entirety of everything that’s missing…
After these short updates, they best make another FFXV game.

    To point out a few:
Galahd, even mentioned in the recent Assassin’s Festival – still no clue where it is, what it looks like or why its so important
Kings of Yore, ancestors of the Lucii, they might make appearances in Comrades DLC, but at this time there’s still too much mystery surrounding them
Eos, there’s countless areas in Niflheim you can’t reach most notably all of Tenebrae, but also named places like Pagla island and Haulhex Armory. What’s that about?
Bahamut, give us more context for Bahamut. He’s got human eyes, don’t he? Well I want to see his human face. Heck, more background on all Summons (Astrals) needed

I can go on but you get the picture

  • stevenm281

My idea about Luna and the party was to have her wait in Cape Caem so that they all take the ship together, have this little moment where they enjoy each other’s company, have Prompto finally meeting her, make them laugh, etc. Luna could have a little moment alone with Noctis before boarding the ship where she hand over the ring, but Noctis refuses to wear it for the time being because it reminds him too much of his dead father.

By the time they reach Altissia (since there is no way Luna could go there in the actual in-game context, there are no boats available anywhere) Luna ditch the party to go meet Camelia and the story continues as normal.

  • •december

I want more importance behind Luna
she is more background noise, than female lead lol
    What’s that about?

  • Noctis Leonhart Strife

I understand everything you said, and I have the same feelings. I feel a little disappointed with the direction the game took, as I see all the potential that he had been desperate for Square-Enix. I know these updates will be good, but they will not be able to put everything that is missing. In my opinion FFXV should never have been an open world game. The story does not fit into this type of game, given the limitations of the engine, the size of the game and the technology chosen for FFXV. The choice to make a Universe of content for FFXV was serious. The film should not have been made, events in Altissia should have been addressed early in the game. And all this does not fit into the open world game. Guilty of this generation that wants all the games in the open world. FF had to choose this path to satisfy the West. But he ended up sacrificing the plot.

  • stevenm281

That was merely one of the things I’d like to see with her, but true, she needs so much more than that, but not necessarily with the party, more on her own, or with Gentiana.

  • Vallen

I hope so too. I would double dip to get the game+updates+all DLC on one disc.

  • NoctLightCloud

Yes, that’s a fantastic idea! I want it on a disc too. SQEX won’t believe it, but there are plenty of gamers out there with bad/no internet connection. A disc would be MUCH appreciated.

  • NoctLightCloud

Excellent! If I remember correctly, we never got information on most of the summons in the Final Fantasy games. I vividly remember FFIX and VIII and my surprised face whenever I received a summon just like an item with zero comment from the game. I never got all of the summons from IX. I like secrets, but missing out summons is not adding any fun to a game. That’s why I liked how XV managed the few summons it had and put focus on each of them. A Ramuh fight would be awesome too! Best: another FFXV, as you said~

  • stevenm281

Especially now that Tabata confirmed that Prompto, Ignis, and Gladiolus and well and alive and that its just Noctis that is dead.

They could easily create a sequel with them, Aranea, Cindy, Iris, and Cor.

  • stevenm281

Even if it doesn’t fit on one disc, it didnt stop them during PS1 days.

  • Lord Shiru

    My thoughts exactly !
I was always surprised by how Noctis doesn’t care about his dad’s death in the beginning. He just goes camping with his friends like nothing happens lol.

They should have let him know about his dad’s passing right before going to Altissia. That would be make Altissia the big climax for the story.

Open world to learn more about the characters / learn how to fight / learn more about the worlds… and then Altissia for the serious stuffs.

That alone could have made FFXV a bit better. Or having to play (tutorial part) in Insomnia before the Invasion would have been great (like the Versus XIII), then the Invasion comes and the game focuses on story until the end.

But again Open World + FF is a bad choice… Even I did enjoy some parts of FFXV.

  • Lord Shiru

Here is the face of Bahamut :

    https://youtu.be/EoJIAN6dhn4?t=20s

And there is also Noctis’ Versus XIII outfit !!

But as you said, a lot of FFXV lore is unknown… You have to read the Loading Screens and some books (cosmogy / FFXV Ultimania) to learn more about it…

  • Lord Shiru

They kind of manage to revive my hype… but just a little !
Comrades is a good stuff, Episode Ignis looks promising and glad to learn more stuffs about the Astrals.

Gentiana is still a waifu ;-).

  • NoctLightCloud

You’re really a true fan. I can tell how much you love this franchise.

  • NoctLightCloud

    Very well said!!

  • Noctis Leonhart Strife

I can not settle for the final result after having the trailer display list for E3 2013 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcUSXub_ypU. Perhaps they are no longer seen, as change of would have been better accepted. But looking at this trailer, the game is clearly focused on the story, not on an open world like it got in the final game. Rather than DLC upgrades, I would rather have it redone in the future as a new FFXV.
At the same time, the content of the story should be added to the main gameplay, I do not like the idea of being added to the menu as special epsiodio.

  • SNK

This is not “their approach”. Circumstances led to that. I’m pretty sure if they could they would have released everything in one package, but they didn’t have time and needed to release the game, so that’s what happened.

  • NoctLightCloud

Oh has he confirmed that? Wow first time hearing that, that’s actually great news. The big question here is: do people want a sequel? Or do they feel like SE is milking it again?
What I never understood in FF ever since deaths of characters like Aerith: it’s fantasy, and they have phoenix down, Phoenix, magic and things. Why can’t they revive Zack, Nyx, Aerith, Ravus, Regis? Maybe Noctis is a bit difficult, but the others died because of rather unspectacular reasons.

  • stevenm281

You’re totally right, it never made much sense that death becomes permanent.

  • KeybladeKnight

Or maybe a prequel focusing on Ardyn and his past.

  • Syul

    I’m quite excited right now~

The Comrades DLC is looking better given the fact that it seems like indeed you’ll be able to explore other places rather than just Old Lestallum. Being able to go to Angelgard without having to use a glitch is going to be sooo nice (although seeing those Daemons is a bit scary), and I’m kinda intrigued about the context of magic, hoping that they’ll explain more. Also the main theme for Comrades is amazing and that I’m freaking in love with the artwork for the Kings of Lucis >_<

Going straight to XV itself, now THIS is the reason why I'm so happy: MORE LORE/STORY.

It's something the game had lacked about, or didn't explain quite well sometimes, and while it was a pity and not precisely acceptable that there were things that weren't on the game from the first day, I'm glad they're actually listening to the fans and adding that, even if the impact of knowing this lore would have been far greater if one discovers it when 1st playing the game. Seeing that we're going to get more story content in the form of free updates is really good, in my opinion. It feels a bit like I've been playing a Closed Beta all this time, though, but still, I'm quite positive and I honestly think that Square-Enix WILL learn from what had happened with XV.

(Also I have to say, adding little but useful things like being able to have more than 1 hunt at the same time is a detail I like.)

And well, the look on my face when I accidentally stumbled on Tumblr on some screenshots of the trailer must have been priceless. I was a bit like "well it's the 1st day of TGS I'll keep my expectations low", but then this happened I totally entered hype mode xD

Man, seeing that we're going to know more about Luna, Gentiana, Shiva, Ifrit… I love it. I wouldn't expect for their story content to have a long duration though, since it's a free update, but I might be wrong, who knows. Still, I have faith that it's going to be nice, after all we're going to have some more story~ If it's something akin to chapter 13.2, well, playing with anyone of them would be SO awesome. And how to forget about the DLC Ignis teaser… I'm very in love with what we've seen so far (and I have a feeling that it'll make me cry like a baby) <3

  • stevenm281

Tabata already confirmed that for Ardyn that are deciding between a new game, a movie or a manga.

  • NoctLightCloud

Ikr? I then started to imagine that K.O. in fight = just unconscious. And that Phoenix dawn and such just help you out of that state. It makes some sense this way :’)

  • stevenm281

It is that actually, its been told by Square Enix a number of times, it just doesnt make sense as in-game it doesn’t refer to that state as unconscious, but as dead.

  • Uzair Syed

Phoenix Down’s “revive” you when you are downed, not dead. In XV especially you’ll notice that characters roll over from their injured “on the ground” state and use the Downs themselves.

  • NoctLightCloud

Ah I see! So my ‘imagined theory’ is an actual fact, thanks for the clarification. But…does that mean no revival of Aerith or Luna? ;/

  • NoctLightCloud

Ikr? That’s why I was wondering. It was really confusing in every FF game, especially when the opponent casts a Death spell on your party.

  • NoctLightCloud

Noctis’ model looks super fake in that video. I’ve watched the old VS13 trailers almost religiously, and he never looked like that in none of the official footage (esp the hair and face look different), is this legit?

  • Uzair Syed

Yup. Aerith is permanently dead. She died fairly quickly after being stabbed. I don’t quite understand why Luna couldn’t use her own powers to heal herself (maybe it doesn’t work on herself) but either way I think she died from exhausting her powers rather than the stab wound anyway (although they never did find a body). So ya, they can’t be revived once dead.

  • Justice V

You can see Bahamut’s face relatively well in the new Beastiary mode.

  • Justice V

Yeah all the times characters “die” or KO they are just either KOed (knocked out) or on the verge of death but not actually dead dead. Phoenix Downs, cure, revive, whatever basically brings people back from the brink, but not once they’ve crossed over. That’s why most full deaths either happen when everyone gets knocked out, and subsequently killed since no one can help resuscitate them, or in story moments where they want you to see the death is past the point of helping them. Luna probably could have been healed, but Noctis was unconscious and then too overwhelmed to realize what he needed to do to save her and by the time it was over she was past the point of saving (most likely).

Things like Life materia, and or Phoenix summons should theoretically act differently in the past deaths door moments, but dunno maybe it has unwanted side effects.

  • Justice V

I actually really like the fact they never interact. It has a somber feeling when you realize they’ve been communicating with each other over 10 years, struggling to see one another again (Prompto finally meet her), etc and she dies near him without ever actually getting to speak to one another in the flesh. Noct didn’t even really get to see/touch/interact with her as she died helping him. It may not have been as engaging character wise as having them hang out would have been, but it had more impact in the fact that they never got to reunite (until death).

  • Diego Pinheiro

I am with you man. Lets have faith in this new DLCs and dont let the darkness/hate consume what this game have of good. haha

  • Diego Pinheiro

lets hope they add a codex in the future free updates. This would be extremely helpfull to explain a lot of things. Lets pray haha

  • Wazi the pa

What led to them releasing what they could at launch — that I already know, but that’s not what my comment is focusing.

  • CallMeGod

LMAO, I can’t help but laugh at you sheep who defend FF15 and says it a great game LOL when they sold you a beta full price hahahahaha.

  • Bazztek

By your dumbass logic KH1, KH2, BBS, FF7, FF8, FF10, FF12 are “beta at full price”.

  • Adam Hedquist

”I’ve watched the old VS13 trailers almost religiously” LOL I’m glad I’m not the only one who have done that ^^ I studied the sh*t out of those trailers and googled versus 13 every single day since 2006 looking for news, my friends made fun of me for that.

Maybe it’s a really, REALLY old model…? Idk but I’ve always find it weird that SE hasn’t given us the versus costumes yet. I mean….chocobo t-shirt/cap, power ranger armor, ffs even a mariachi costume with a fckn sombrero were higher on their priority list…..Dafck are they smokin’ over there at SE?

Look at em’ MOFOS! They’re so freakin’ cool lookin’!! Just fix the textures n’ we’re good to go: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/finalfantasy/images/e/e7/Prince_gang.JPG

  • NoctLightCloud

Ikr? I did that too! At one point I had to stop talking about VS13 because my friends got sick of my obsession. I loved everything Versus, I even bought some game magazines in French and Japanese which sonetimes featured just ONE article about VS13. It was my no#1 anticipated game EVER, that’s why that Noctis model looks super weird in my eyes.
Pic in link is ma squad!♡

  • NoctLightCloud

    I see! :O thank you~

  • NoctLightCloud

Very interesting. I thought the FF universe had a logic hole, but it seems that it was just me. Thanks anyways~

  • CallMeGod

Lol u must be some kind of stupid to compare FF15 to these games. How stupid r u that u can’t understand what free story update is. That literally tell you FF15 is not even complete.

  • xMysticx

” I always can’t help but laugh at cancerous Versus fanboys like you.”

what you cant handle someone call out your ”Favorite” game ?
are you blind ? you cant see the game failed that much ? go on entertain me that much i see you everywhere defending piece of ass game . in twitter , the forums and even in here

  • xMysticx

dude leave her shes almost gonna commit suicide if she didnt

  • Bazztek

So you’re an ass devastated stalker mad that XV is great, has more GOTY awards than any other FF, sold faster than any other FF and people loved it so much they beg for more content. If no one liked it no one would be asking SE for more XV contend you braindead versus fanboy.

  • Bazztek

So what you just told me is that you’ve played neither of those games or even know what the international/ FM versions even are.

  • xMysticx

staler …?????? hardly its just i see you bombing your ass every ffxv subjects go commit suicide somewhere else dude . sold faster ? give me a break please you know why but you wont admit it . besides im not a ” fanboy” i see a fucked up ffxv enthusiasts like you wont admit that this numbered FF is shit like you love teeeeeeby chwan

  • xMysticx

international FF copies are the content bonus were for japan only you fucked up shit it got released because of the anniversary of FF franchise .

god damn new breed are soo fucked

  • Bazztek

So not only do you type like a child but you argue like one too? You really are mad that XV has more GOTY awards than any other FF and that it reached 6.5m faster than any other FF. Don’t even try to pretend as if it having a simultaneous ww release matters anymore when all the other FFs since 7 from JP release to 10 months already includes their western release too. FF13 came out in 2009 December in Japan and March 2010 in the west and didn’t hit 6m until well into 2011. XV hit 6m within 3 months. When all is said and done XV will be in the top 3 highest selling mainline FFs.

Go back to fapping over versus concept trailers instead of actually playing great games like XV if you’re so triggered by how good it is and how well it’s been received.

  • Bazztek

    Oh the projection.

  • Bazztek

Wow you really are underage and know nothing about FF.

  • xMysticx

    GOTY, ????????????????????????????

    hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha xDDDDD
did i just see that ? fapping over versus ????? okey im done
old fans like me already moved on i leave ff to you which turned ass like you

bye im going to play nier and persona 5 🙂 the real GOTY not ass game like you call ffxv

    go commit suicide somewhere else
and ohhh im not a child

  • xMysticx

news flash i know about FF and i grew up with it im almost 27 :)))))

  • Bazztek

Thanks for proving you are a child and are in denial, while also lacking the basic ability to read or type a coherent sentence.

  • Bazztek

More like you are 7 since you type and act like a 7 year old.

  • xMysticx

lol, hardly a child you piece of shit woman . i just prefer quality over quantity
keep making fun of me proves people have disagreed with you multiple times

plus , im not in denial . i guess you know that you are that person. and also ffxv has lower rating than ffxiii isnt that even weirder to you ?

when tabata touches an ff it turns like shit exactly like you keep licking his dick you love em after all

  • Joakim Säwing

I’m having a great time with XII Zodiac at the moment. Feels great to play a real worthy FF title and not XV and all its totally crap-DLC. Square, you have lost it.

  • xMysticx

    ikr ?

  • Bazztek

Every time you post you prove you’re a child, not sure why you think I’m a woman but keep up with that delusion.

XV exceeds the quality of the other games you mentioned, and the fact that you even cling to them yet are posting on an FF fansite is beyond pathetic and shows you’ve been destroyed by anyone who countered your inane ramblings.

And no, XV has more GOTY awards than any other FF, FF13s lowest MC score is 65, FFXVs lowest MC score is 81, both of their highest MC scores are 83, meanwhile FF13s lowest userscore is 5.8 and its highest is 7.2, FFXVs lowest userscore is 6.8 and highest 7.6. FF13 is objectively lower rated than XV. Not only are you objectively wrong but you can’t even keep your “argument” straight.

Tabata not only saved XV but made it better than anything Nomura could have done on it.

  • xMysticx

    lol you are hopeless
i’ll never bother to respond to a ship like you
    piece of shit woman

  • Bazztek

And now that you’ve been BTFO you just run away, typical.

  • xMysticx

you just refuse to listen thats why people are tired of you
you wont calculate it in your head . is it my fault that you wont open your fucking mind ? oh yeah you open in between the legs so be ready to get fucked by tebby it will feel good . promise

  • Bazztek

So more inane ramblings and non arguments after you were completely wrecked. Figures a child like you couldn’t form an actual valid argument, what with you sperging out over versus like a braindead monkey.

  • xMysticx

the monkey is you darling 🙂
look at the mirror then judge people

  • xMysticx

and im not a fan boy nor i care for versus

  • Bazztek

    Oh the irony.

  • Bazztek

XV is better than 12 in every aspect.

  • •december

I like XV too but i’m thinking they’re criticizing 15’s stray from the norm, the usual FF formula

  • •december

Ok, thats his face but its as relevant as out of bounds glitches, it doesn’t really add to the story surrounding Bahamut he’s just a mystery with a face that people data-mined to find lol… I wanna know more about him, his design is so grandiose, my favourite Bahamut incarnation

  • stevenm281

indeed, 12 is among the worst to play in today’s age. (for me)

I like turn-based, I like action, but 12 hybrid system isnt working anymore, the music is very lackluster, and the political story wasn’t really interesting.

  • sagatwarrior

At least XII is actually finished.

  • •december

LOL sagat, did you just try and really compare a freshly released game to a re-mastered game, essentially a game that was released twice? Have you ever been outside of your home…

actually, it isnt, it was revealed after the original development that they had to rush it out and the initial director fell sick and so someone had to take over and that caused severe problems.

Haha ye man that’s some hardcore sh*t right there! xD I was super close to buy two famitsu issues on ebay, one in 2008 and another in 2011 but chose not to at the last seconds both times, I’ve regretted it ever since T^T Would be cool (for us nerds at least lol) to have real copies of gaming history of Versus13 <3 😉 I have one or two in a swedish gaming mag but the articles are small compared to the ones in famitsu.
    Same here 🙂
I hope the modding community can bring more of that sweet Versus flavour/feeling to XV on pc. I didn't really get much of that from the final game sadly.

Same here. Actually that’s a nice idea. If I have more time I might scan and upload it on my website. I’ll make sure to post the link here (hopefully I won’t forget!) 😉

Yeah, used to see it that way too. But I think I remember reading an interview with SE way back in the 90’s where they talked about it and then it made sense. There’s still tons of logic holes though haha. Like Bahamut destroying the planet, but then a second later the landscape is fine.
