Star Ocean: The Last Hope 4K & Full HD Remaster due out November 28 in North America and Europe By Erren Van Duine on October 18, 2017 at 12:32 PM

Star Ocean: The Last Hope 4K & Full HD Remaster is heading overseas next month, Square Enix announced today. The revamped PlayStation 4 and PC-bound port will launch digitally on November 28, same as the Japanese release.

The game will be priced at $20.99 and with 4K and keyboard control support on PC. Those who purchase the game within two weeks of release will receive a 10% discount. Steam buyers during this window will also receive an exclusive downloadable mini-soundtrack featuring music from the game. For PlayStation buyers, those who purchase before January 8 will receive an exclusive PS4 system theme and 12 PSN avatars featuring the main characters.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope originally released on Xbox 360 in 2009 – later getting an ‘International’ PlayStation 3 port with balance & UI tweaks as well as dual audio support. It is the first game in the Star Ocean timeline, where humanity is looking into the stars to find a new homeworld after World War III. The game features a party-based action battle system, private action events, and in-depth item creation system that the series is known for.

    So many good games..
Xenogears, chrono trigger/crosss and they remaster this…

I think they need money for the franchise and thats an easy grab.

You do know Tri-Ace is mainly independent now? So them doing this has nothing to do under SE’s main branch.

Also lol Chrono Cross good…you should do more stand up my friend.

So Chrono cross is worst than this…

  • Randy Marsh

Can’t they be as equally bad?

  • Starlord

Is it really bad to have a difference of opinion? There are great games highly rated and are hated by other people and the same is true the other way around. I happened to like SO4.

its my favorite SO game so yeah, it aint all bad at all.

I see some like and dislike here 😛
Well for me from best to worst SO:
    SO3, SO2, SO1, SO4, SO5
I’ve played all 5 so I’m not speaking out of my ass.
SO4 I feel is just a failure in terms of characters and story. The sidequests were done half right. The gameplay was solid. The production value was pretty good and there was effort put in. (I made that revelation after SO5 came out) Still though, until SO5 came out and surprised me with how cheap the quality was, I considered SO4 the worst Star Ocean. (By the way the message of SO4’s story is total garbage and speaks as if there is a cosmic plan for them that they should obey) (While SO3 proves it in a way, that’s 700 years later) (It’s like speaking of God’s plan and acting upon it, except we don’t know his plan, the details, or if he even exists) (They just replace “God” with “evolution” and think we don’t notice)
But speaking of the flaws of SO4 piss me off after a while so I’ll just end it there.

I hated the English Dub for this game. It’s cringe-worthy. So I switched to Japanese. lol

Lymle was the worst, followed closely by Sarah.

Still have the PS3 International ver. in the pipeline but if this is ~$30NZD then I’ll bite. Load times and quality of life is gaming’s true vision!
