Director of Final Fantasy XV says his new project should start gearing up in 2018

In a recent interview, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata talked briefly about his upcoming plans for 2018 for both FFXV and his new project.

“We’re planning something many fans have requested, and something you really wouldn’t be able to guess.” Tabata said when asked about future DLC for Final Fantasy XV. “We’re currently in the stage of solidifying the content of each one, while also reconstructing our development system. Rather than develop in a rush to put out several things in the year like we did this year, I think it is better for us to narrow down the content and develop more thoroughly than we have before.”

When asked about his new project, Tabata had said: “The plan is for the new project to shift into gear starting next year. I would also like to try to further expand what I worked on with Final Fantasy XV.”

According to an article published by Siliconera, Tabata mentioned in a previous interview that he would like to give players a Zelda: Breath of the Wild type experience with his next project, but has not discussed the topic since then.

Hopefully we will hear more about Tabata’s new project sometime in 2018.
