Noctis Lucis Caelum is Tekken 7’s newest fighter By Tony Garsow on November 12, 2017 at 10:58 PM

Final Fantasy XV’s crown prince Noctis Lucis Caelum will be the newest DLC character for Tekken 7, revealed by Bandai Namco this evening. The third DLC character for the game, you’ll be able to play as Noctis some time in Spring 2018. It also looks like the Hammerhead garage will also serve as a new stage too.

In the trailer below we get a tease of the character’s debut.

Tekken 7 is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

  • Not sure this is gonna help matters, but as long as they make more RPGs, I’ll allow it.

  • Wazi the pa

Honestly did not see this coming.

  • Dod

Good lord.. where is this gonna end ?
I was joking earlier with the burger collaboration but that wouldn’t surprise me now.

  • Miqote

    FFXV is shit.

  • Zero_mask

it hurts square stop doing silly things. please make games I mean great games like you used to. leave tekken alone. its great game in their own name, dont mesh your silly business tactics to other games. do your thing.

  • Dod

They’re so desperate to justify the existence of FFXV they multiply stupid collaborations to make the whole thing still exist and visible. That is sad.

  • Randy Marsh

This is milking beyond all belief! I mean when has Square done this before? Never have, nuh uh! Never!

Oh I mean they did that time with Ehrgeiz…but that was the only time! Well I mean they did do that
crossover with Mario a few times in those sports games, but that’s only two times! Well I mean they do have that Cloud in Smash Bros. thing…but that was only i…ah forget it….

  • Breathless

    The cringe is real.

  • SNK

My God! You people do complain, don’t you? How can you complain about it? That’s a super cool thing happening right there. Fucking fandom. Never happy with anything.

  • Serj_Angelo

Although I really didn’t see it coming and would much more preferred Kiryu from Yakuze, I’ll actually enjoy playing as Noct.

  • Artemis_Polara

This does make me laugh a bit. However I’m not a tekken person so I won’t bother with this.

  • One Eco

Oh, my god, now this is surreal. Really, really surreal.

  • Zero_mask

I wish they take a rest on FFXV and move on. but I guess they never stop. its kinda hurts somehow.

  • stop

  • fish8100

Pretty cool. Didn’t see this coming.

  • stevenm281

This looks better than Dissidia NT, and I’m no fan of fighting games in general.

  • Adam Hedquist

I don’t understand the hate/irritation or whatever negative feelings one can have towards this. It’s really harmless if you can take a step back and think about it. Does it really matter for anyone besides Tekken players?

It’s just a bonus for Tekken players and people who are fans of Noctis and I’m happy for them.
I think Noctis is a cool character and his moves(in Tekken) here are pretty sweet looking.
With that said, it’s not gonna make me go and buy the game, but if I had the chance I’d pick him and try him out.

  • Vallen

I ain’t even mad, this is lit! Will go grab Tekken 7 this week <3

  • Vallen

    Your salt is delicious

  • Vallen

    You never see it comiiiiiiiiing~

  • NoctLightCloud

    Wow this looks cool!

  • NoctLightCloud

Tell me what would NOT be a stupid collaboration then? Nintendo fans enjoy countless collaborations in their games, why can’t FF fans do the same?

  • Daniel

Gladio would look better there than Noctis, but his moveset was pretty cool, actually; he looked kinda OP

  • •december

    Should’ve been Regis…

  • •december

i love how Noctis looks in Tekken 7
FFXV is a brilliant game that was robbed of the chance of superiority because of Luminous Engine… Isn’t Tekken 7 running on UE4? looks great ffs… lol

  • Tizmah

FFXV is every other games bitch at this point. Can’t wait to see Noctis in New Donk City!

  • xMysticx

well,at this point it is laughable … if you think about how many crossovers XV has been in to and, also every game treats ffxv as its bitch these days … you know its tabatas latest bitch to do marketing for

  • Dod

Because we’re all very different ?
I accept the fact that some of you are enjoying these things so please accept that some people aren’t. To me it’s just not what Final Fantasy does, it feels like they’re milking this game to the very last drop instead of moving on and learning from their mistakes. Nintendo is very different, it’s always have been more or less like this with them, not at all with the FF series. Again, this is how I see it and I understand if people don’t agree with me or feel like I’m complaining.

  • caltz

I won’t be surprised if they come out with Dissidia VS Tekken/Snk/Marvel/DC/Capcom in the future. Crossing over seems like an in thing nowadays. Anyway, Noc’s moves were very well portrayed in this series. Was looking forward to see him go super saiyan, but he stopped at armiger

  • Mark D

I’d Love to see Tifa as a guest character in Tekken or Street FIghter V – that’d be a dream come true

  • Noctis Leonhart Strife

It seems that only Square-enix does not see that this posture that the company has assumed in recent years has only done wrong to the fan base. People buy the games because they love the series and because they put their expectations there. They do not buy because they are satisfied with the course they have taken. Square-enix’s mismanagement has only hurt the FF. Where I go I see people dissatisfied with the FF series, and more specifically with the XV. Those additions to Tekken are cool, I do not see that as evil. But the XV had its movie burned after they gave us a rushed story game and charged us for DLCs that should be free, I do not hate XV, but The Witcher and CD Projekt Red are a real class on how to make a game.

  • xMysticx

you dont see it as marketing stand point though :/ these collabs are ”cool” to you and done no harm that is said but each time there is crossover companies pay for that .

in XV’s cause its loud and clear to make up for a decade … in short XV sucked hard so they do this to make up for the money lost in production no matter what .

  • stevenm281

While the money on Versus was wasted, XV on the other hand, didn’t lose any money, they broke even on release day, so since then, sales are pure profit.

  • xMysticx

and that’s my point exactly and dont forget the propaganda and hype ..

  • Yuntu

At this point I wouldn´t call it a fandom anymore and just hate culture.

  • Yuntu

Don´t you dare think logical about this, Randy!

  • I think that is the stance we should all assume from now on
we are never going to see it coming but you can be sure that when it comes it is going to be whack
this is a level of whoring that I have never seen before

I feel like FINAL FANTASY XV (which is the successor versus XIII) loses it’s integrity every time it is featured in franchises it has very little to do with, like someone who losses class in your mind because they have been seen hanging around why too many partners, you are going to be next if you dare take any advances from them seriously

  • lets just hope that those RPGs do not end up whoring themselves like FINAL FANTASY XV

  • Yeah. Because just like how people hated Lightning popping up in everything now the seem okay with it happening with Noctis.

  • NoctLightCloud

Since it doesn’t hurt the series but rather promotes it, I tend to say such things are nice to have. 🙂 I support it as long as it’s somenthing cool like this, and not A New Empire. We had Ehrgeiz too. Maybe you’re more into the internal collabs (like FF13-2 & FF7 + FF10, or FF14 with FF10 + FF13) and not the external ones? (AC, Smash Bros, Forza, Tekken) But the external ones are sometimes cooler.

  • Dod

God no, internal collabs are even worse xD. While I agree these might be a nice touch here and there, I’m not a huge fan when they happen every two nights. In the case of XV it’s been pratically nothing but collabs for months, instead of focusing every strength they have onto creating some useful things for the game itself (and I’m not talking about hunt quests, multiplayer mode or additional story content with .jpg cinematics).

Just my two cents though, I totally respect your opinion and preferences.

  • NoctLightCloud

Same here, I respect your opinion. My sister is actually thinking the same way as you, she dislikes these “random” collabs. But she can’t put a finger on the reason. Which led me to the question: I wonder what a good collab is then? Or is no collab the best collab for FF? xD

  • Dod

It’s hard pointing a specific finger, it’s more of a general feeling, it just doesn’t feel right for a Final Fantasy, or it feels like the premium feeling of this game is slowly fading away and being corrupted by mainstream spotlights.
It’s like a good bottle of wine watered down with some Coca-Cola.

I believe no collabs would be the best option, instead of focusing their time on using and tweaking assets they should (IMO) take the time to fine-tune the game instead, as it’s been quite a disappointment for a large amount of players, including myself.

But again, if the community likes them and SE makes some extra money for XVI, why not ! I just wish they’d stop milking this game for once and create actual top grade content. To each their own I guess 😛

My regards to your sis’ though xD

  • NoctLightCloud

I see, I actually understand your point of view better now. Let’s hope it changes with XVI. I’m actually ok with both as long as we get to hear about FF regularly and not just on a 4/5-year cycle. :’)
